i did this a couple years ago and never got the miles. Fought with them for a while until it wasn't worth it anymore. just a heads up, may work for others though.

Did you do it through the AAdvantage email link?
My banner on directv page shows: American airlines DirecTV store. |
worth more than the costco card or the AAA bonus
|
Damn! I just signed up for DirecTV a few months ago. Anyway they will retrofit the AA miles?
|
You can always call them and ask, but I think this is for new customers who sign up through their email offer. Good luck!

I am going to do this today but I had a few questions...the AA Directv link doesn't say anything about AA, just looks like the regular directv page (web address has AA in it)...i've done a dry run and don't see a place to put AAdvantage number in...is this at the very end or did you guys call them? I want to make sure I get the online specials (like free MLB exrtra innings and $5 off packages)...thanks for any help...
also, when they say "credit card required" will a debit card work in this case? THANKS! |

Thanks OP. I was just going to sign up for costco $50 to get the $200 gift card but would much rather have 25k miles. The extra innings+sunday ticket max is just icing on the cake. Looks like you can add the sports pack without any extra charge as well. Just remember to cancel all those movie channels after three months.
I think DTV really wants to get rid of the last years HR34 genie since the hr44 is ready to go more or less.. I might wait until the last day 4/15 to see if I can get an hr44 as well. |

With the American Airlines 25k deal, I didn't get the double bonus (extra $5 off package) AND they wouldn't let me use the friend referral bonus...I tried with 3 different CSR's... QUESTION---with these deals, can you downgrade from say Ultimate to Choice and still keep the $33 credit for the first 12 months? I love it!! AND I can't wait to get those miles...I asked each CSR to make sure my AAdvantage number was in system, and they each repeated the number back to me...made quadruple sure that I am going to get this. After 30 days then I have to call them back to activate the miles...then wait 6-8 weeks... Thanks OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
The deals are definitely combinable. Here's how, remember you must do all of it online, not by phone.
1. Go to aa.directv.com - select package and go to checkout, enter your AA number. 2. Open second tab in same browser, go to http://www.directv.com/refer and enter 63335368 3. Close first tab and complete checkout from second tab. Total for Choice is $35 per month (1 genie). |
I signed up using this promotion last July. I took screenshots of the entire process, because the 25000 miles were worth at least $375 to me. After the required waiting period, I called in because I had still not received the miles. The CSR said she would take care of it, and if they needed anything else from me, they would call me back. A month passed, and the miles still did not post. I called back in and the CSR claimed that I was not eligible for the miles because I had not signed up through directv, and that I had actually gone through some other merchant. Of course, this was completely false, because you can't be presented with the offer of 25000 miles (a huge banner at the top of all my screenshots directly on their own domain). She said she would escalate it to a supervisor and they would contact me if they needed to see my screenshots, or any further information. I haven't heard a word from them since. I am pissed, but I don't have the time or the energy to deal with them any more. If the miles are the key reason you are joining this service over another, think carefully.
If anyone has further suggestions about who I could contact to get this resolved, it would be really appreciated. I just don't have hours and hours to go round and round with them anymore, especially when I have objective evidence of my claim. |

So I called back AGAIN the next day to confirm once more. This time they told me right away that they found the order and again repeated aadvantage number. I, like you, wanted visual proof. So I began emailing Directv about the AA miles and the process, to make sure I was doing everything I needed to do and to get email confirmation that the process was underway. The first 4 emails (not joking) told me that "you must go to this link, call this number, wait 30 days" ect., but would never confirm that I was enrolled in the AA rebate program. FINALLY, the 5th email they responded back and said they saw that I had the AA miles rebate and gave the aadvantage number. I knew at this point I had what I needed in case they tried to get out of giving me miles. MY recommendation to you is to start sending them emails and include the screen shots you have. I would think they would honor that if you sent a few emails. They are very fast on responding to emails (6-8 hours max). I would think if it got bad enough for them, and you threatened to cancel they would give you the miles even if you didn;t have proof (which you do)...I think you have a clear cut case....just don't give up on it....do the email thing, I've gotten a lot done with bill and programming issues already via email and am very impressed with how they handle emails. Again, I got my miles 5 weeks after I had Directv installed...super happy with this!! MAKE THEM HONOR YOUR DEAL!!!!!!!!! THATS $500!!!!!!!! |
