It's up to their discretion, but most do.

robsnyder22 02-27-2013 09:21 AM

some home depot coupons will not honor web printed coupons is my experience. Did anyone successfully use this coupon yet since it seems unique? Let me know asap as I am planning on getting some paint this weekend and would love to use it

Not sure how it looks unique. Other printable Lowe's coupon start with the numbers 47 followed by a bunch of zeroes. I would think if it were a unique code to a merchant as large as Lowe's, there would be more than 5 unique digits at the end.

Hrmmm... looking into this further, it appears that this was only supposed to go to customers of that website. (Registration requires customer verification.) Hopefully Lowe's won't invalidate the coupon when they catch on.

davexucc 02-27-2013 09:32 AM

Home Depot will honor a competitors coupon, but most will not take a printed coupon.

grzesiu 02-27-2013 09:39 AM

My Home Depot does not honor printed Lowe's coupons. They only take the hardcopy Lowe's coupons (i.e. 10%) and the max they give for a discount is $50. They told me too many people were making copies.

bgammill 02-27-2013 09:46 AM

I wonder if this will stack with the 10% off that my local Lowes gives all Veterans who present a DD-214 form? (For personal use only!)

Usually they don't stack, but it's always YMMV with the cashiers. The worst they could say is "no".

Should work @ Menards if you have one nearby. Never had a problem using a competitors printed coupon there (other than on sale items).

Thanks OP.

Depend on Casher.
I was used $10 off $50 lowes coupon (not printable coupon. That coupon is in the mail) at local home depot. Cashier A told me they cannot honor coupon with more than 10% discount. But cashier B allowed me use it. Cashier A is totally a liar.

turningpoint84 02-27-2013 10:44 AM

Love these, i literaly go 2x a day, because it's like 20% off lol.

azoiic 02-27-2013 10:46 AM

Can anyone confirm that this a universal use coupon? Ty in advance.

GuitsBoy 02-27-2013 10:50 AM

That really does look like a one use unique code. But I would love to hear otherwise!

bigaforlife 02-27-2013 10:52 AM

It looks like a generic coupon to me...if it wasn't, the ad would be more targeted and specialized towards an individual

Home Depot & Menards will honor this, their policy is that it must have a bar code.

Looks like a HOA management company. Probably got this offer to residents in their communities. Not sure why there is such high feedback for this if the coupon is single use and no one can use it?

I have never used a coupon at Lowe's. Would this show up as $10 off at the end, or do they take off a percentage of each item to total the $10 off?

it would just take a straight $10 off whatever you buy

fifty $1 items would cost you $40, or one $50 item would cost you $40

Well yes, but it will make it a percentage. If you spend $100 on 10 items, each one will have $1 discounted from it.

In other words, return value is stated on the receipt, and every item gets it's fair share of the discount.

It is actually company policy that they do...it is a written policy handed down from corporate and ALL cashiers should know HOW to put it in their system. However, many are not trained properly so they will probably tell you NO, BUT they DO take them!

BTW-I used to work for HD a few years ago and frequently use competitor coupons at HD.

Thanks, finishing up basement construction still lots to do however.
This will be perfect I'll use the crap out of these.

May try to match menards but I totally pissed off my local menards with the Home depot $50 off $100 a couple months back. After I used them I was matching a Home Depot $5 off $50 at menards and the customer service lady came up and said "oh yeah I don't know if we can take those, you know those coupons you used last time were a scam, we were informed by corp offices."

I promptly replied "No they weren't I used a ton of them at Home Depot and they gladly took them"

She then replied "ok we'll take this one too I guess, but I'm keeping it I don't want to loose my job over $5"

I thought in my head F**K you, and I'll keep using them until they stop taking them there.

I did see those other comments, but just because they are being told that by some incompetent cashier does not mean the [cashier] is correct. When many of these cashiers are hired (same goes for some managers) they are trained on the basics. I trained each cashier that came in our new store and it was my responsibility to make sure that they knew the policy. We had a notebook which contained HD cashier manual operation...and it was a step-by-step process! You also had to take a test on the HD computer, because they wanted to make sure that you were prepared to accurately run the register. And yes there were questions on the test about HD taking manufacturer/competitor coupons.

A few years later, I faced this once and it was with a new cashier who was not properly trained. She called the AM and she told me that they did not take coupons...let alone competitor coupons:lmao:. I stood my ground and told her she was WRONG, because HD accepts manufacturer and competitor coupons! Of course she said she had been with the company for x amount of years and she has NEVER known for them to take anything but HD coupons:rolleyes:. I told her to indulge me for a few minutes, because I could promise her that one of us would learn something new. I explained to her HOW to get to the area in the computer WHERE they are to input the information for coupons...manufacturer and competitor coupons. In the end she apologized and said she had no idea. I told her it was a good idea to make sure that those who were going to be using the cash registers be trained on this matter, because when I was in that store...all of the cashiers were properly trained.

Yes, my local HD didn't take printed coupons, but now they take the printed mover coupon and I just print out as many as I need. Only drawback is that the one they send you expires after a few weeks so you have to do one every few weeks. And it's only for 10%.

I've had a cashier at HD argue to say that Harbor Freight only sells tools. So she didn't want to give me the 20% off on a pressure washer.

"I'll do it this once....."

Weeks later the same girl had no problem giving me 20% off my entire purchase that didn't even include tools.

burton560 02-27-2013 02:36 PM

Can anyone confirm multiple items in a single purchase?

antidodge 02-27-2013 02:39 PM

My experience with competetiors coupons at HD and Lowes

this is in the Dublin/Pleasanton area in the SF Bay area.

I used a printed copy of Lowe's moving coupon at HD. No problems.

I used a printed copy of a (recently posted on SD) Ace Hardware coupon for $10 off $40 last week at Lowes.

In both cases, they did not scan the bar code. At Lowes, they simply went in to the Menu and did a over ride on the total price at the cash register.

At HD, the cashier had a laminated card that had equivalent %off codes. So, when he saw my Lowes coupon, he simply scanned the laminated card for an equivalent 10% code and scanned it.

In both cases, they did keep my coupon, even though they were monochrome laser printed at home.

Yes. Buy whatever you want as long as total is over $50 before tax.

It says "Limit one Coupon per household" ... wonder whether this is one time usage

I used 2 coupons at 2 different registers an hour ago. Works great.
Thanks OP.

burton560 02-27-2013 03:43 PM

worked! 3 plant starterts, 1 magnetic level, 1 antenna adapter, and a bunch of painting supplies....$50.30 before coupon! $43 and some change with tax :)

If you look at the link of the email they sent you, somewhere along that link is the expiration date and the unique 10% off code. You can change the Expiration date to whatever you want and it will appear on the print out. However you can not change the unique 10% off code because it will not appear under the bar code in the print out.

Thanks. Works great. Better than before now, because I used to buy them on ebay because the post office always ran out of them or just limited you to one or two.

hypermotard 02-27-2013 06:29 PM

I used one today in Aliso Viejo, CA and it worked fine. :) Thanks OP.

Just used it in Lakewood, OH. Worked great! Just scanned and took $10 off instantly.

Do you have to have a Management company and Account # to get this coupon or enyone can get it?

I've heard this before and forgot all about it. So thanks... but my question is if all coupons emailed by Lowe's can be done this way.

Normally they don't stack, but I think they might combine some discounts on military-related holidays (Memorial Day, Veteran's Day). I don't know exactly what combines and what does not, but I was told to check on those holidays to combine the military discount with the 5% Lowe's charge discount.

I used the coupon at Home Depot yesterday evening and had no issues with it being accepted.

It usually can't stack because they can't enter more than one percent off. A barcoded coupon may be another story. Home Depot will not give military discounts on special buys like Black Friday items.

If I were them, and it was any serious penalty....now would be the time to sue the Govt. for denying equal justice with the homeland security mess of illegal criminals being released! Anyone tried buying 4 of the filtrete HVAC filters (which will automatically deduct 15% off for contractor discount) then adding this coupon on the top? They have a $12 rebate thru 3-31 and I need filters.

I had a store call the police on me a while back. The store had a grand opening and ran out of coupons, so they copied them on a color copier. When I presented one of the color coupon copies they made, a different manager was on-duty who assumed I had copied the coupons and called the police. Worked out in the end, but I still think it was silly that they didn't communicate better with their own employees and took such extreme action without even asking me where I got the coupon.

Good Lord....how stupid! They are/were leaving themselves wide open for a law suit right there!!:bulb:

sshlyk 02-28-2013 08:56 AM

From the coupon: "Coupon is void if altered, defaced, copied, transferred,
or sold through any on-line auction"

Does printed coupon count as copy?

BTW coupon is not working online ("An invalid promotional code was entered: 2786.")

Is that 3M filter? Where can I get the rebate form? Thanks

Lakee911 02-28-2013 09:20 AM

At my local bLowes, they'll ask where I got the flyer/print-out/whatever and if I tell them online they'll press me for more details until they eventually say 'Those are fake. We don't honor them' or something like that.

See if this brings up the PDF. Otherwise, just go to the Filtrete site and dig around a bit. There's also a Mike Holmes $30k remodel contest.

One time Lowes targeted coupon. Only good if your HD will take with 50% chance. Better pick up a younger female HD employee than an old one who may look it for a minute and deny it.

Why are some cramming this down our throats when there is lots of evidence that some stores just don't follow this so-called policy, for whatever reason. I was in the Palm Springs, CA Area during the Christmas holidays and both Lowes and Home Depot in that area do NOT accept comp. coupons, at all, period. Tried both with different day and night managers.

Just this morning, went to local AZ store and the manager said YES to both the Lowes coupon in this thread and also the Ace 40% off coupon in another thread. I used the Lowes coupon with success.

Receipt actually shows $10 off one of the items I bought, so I could, if I was that kind of person, return the other items because receipt doesn't show I needed to buy $50 worth of stuff.

Please explain to me HOW I am cramming anything down your throat? I am stating facts. If you read my entire post you would understand that IF they can get away with it, BECAUSE they are NOT properly trained...they will. I just happen to know what the REAL policy states.

FTR-There are also SEVERAL Walmart stores that give customers crap about coupon usage...and their policy suggests otherwise. When the staff KNOWS better...they do better. However, if they feel they can get away with something...they will.

mrbhappy 02-28-2013 07:35 PM

HD in Folsom, CA took it, no questions asked. There is a lowes just down Bidwell about a mile, so they will take anything.

ejicon 03-04-2013 09:45 PM

I'm not sure why cashiers and managers are denying print-out coupons. Lowes gives these project coupons out like hotcakes online. I signed up for one last year. They send you a coupon via email, you print it out, hand it to a Lowes cashier and all is good.

I can't find the page to sign up but I found the confirmation page:
http://www.lowes.com/facebookEmai...hanks.html

So if any employee gives to trouble, just tell them you got the coupon from their Facebook promotion and printing the coupon was the only way for you to physically have it.

RJ45 03-05-2013 02:57 PM

I already used 4 times at Lowes and 2 times at HD. Thanks and repped.

ultratumba 03-05-2013 03:49 PM

FYI for those with Just4U Safeway accounts, check them, there is a promo under personalized deals, if you buy $75 or more Lowes GC, you get $15 off. Couple that with the 10/50 coupon, and its basically 40% your puchase of $75.

You are lucky they took it at HD. They've stopped taking internet printed competitor coupons months and months ago. Maybe the cashier didn't know. Just so others know YMMV.

Login to safeway.com. Click the Just4U icon on upper left, you will see the sub-choice "Personalized Deals". Click that. Then make sure "show all" is selected. Go to page 2 which will have it as the very last item on list. Click Add to list. Done.

Deal is good until the 26th so there is time. When I went last night they were all out of $25 cards, so I know people are buying the $50+$25 cards.

Deal is good until the 26th so there is time. When I went last night they were all out of $25 cards, so I know people are buying the $50+$25 cards.

There's also a link to the coupon on coupons.com. Click on the Coupon Codes tab (top right of page) and scroll down to locate the $10 off $50 coupon. I found it in zip code 12077.

Here is the coupon link from coupons.com:

It's the same coupon code, so if they ask you can provide an honest answer.

Do you know whether this deal is still available? I tried to follow your instruction and could not find it.

Any deals for a lawn mower?

WhatTheL 03-10-2013 10:37 AM

Thanks mirom2! I printed this on my inkjet and used it this morning in Lincoln, CA store. No problems. The cashier scanned it and it discounted by $10 on my $69.97 purchase.

My home depot has last years models on clearance, depends on the store. Considering these are basically new machines that have been sitting on a shelf at 50% off or more not a bad deal if you need one
