Good if you have Prime, but shipping came up $8.02 for me. At $14, i'd probably just buy one locally from Fry's or MicroCenter.

Is this mainly intended for use with 8-10 year old computers that were not "n" enabled? Just curious why people would need such a product.

If you build a new Campuuter, how is it going to be wireless enabled - unless you buy one of those more expensive PCI cards. Very few Motherboards come wireless enabled, even ones intended for HTPC.

I recently purchased a new Dell desktop that came with a wireless card. The desktop is maybe 20 feet max from the wireless router. Would get 3/5 bars, and slow connection. I even had Dell come out and replace it, same thing. I bought a netgear wireless adapter. Full strength. Can max out my advertised download speed.

Emergency. Maybe if wireless craps out on your laptop. Or for a re-located desktop where you don't have ethernet yet.

I don't like wireless N adapters they will never be as reliable as a PCI wireless N card. Check reviews, I've never seen a wireless N adapter review without people saying that their PCI card received better wireless range or that this new adapter doesn't have the speed or range of their card.

If it were 5ghz rather than 2.4ghz i would bite, but 2.4ghz is saturated signal to noise wise where I live. Still TU for those that need a 2.4ghz n adapter.

Most Windows-Based networking programs go through the MS networking protocol, meaning no matter what device; wired or wireless should work without issue.

On Linux you might have some difficulty, you'd only need to scan for the adapter and make sure your program is using it.

Yep, no 5Ghz so not buying it.

Good price, but if anyone lives in a wireless-congested area, I recommend getting a 5Ghz adapter instead. I had to buy a second adapter myself because the the first one I bought only worked at 2.4 Ghz and the signal was so bad that I couldn't get my full internet speed (50mbps down).

(of course you need a 5Ghz router for this to make a difference)

yup, bought one and not sure why... I guess I could replace my current desktop usb N but there really isn't a point. My current one may only be 150 but its not like my internet is faster than that anyways but eh why not upgrade to one with 300 Mbps just for the hell of it :/

This thing is very LARGE an obtrusive. If you want a WIFI adapter for a laptop (or any portable device) go for a mini one on eBay for $5. They are all based on RealTek, Atheros, or Ralink chipsets anyway.

I have one of those... has worked great thus far. Range isn't amazing, but form factor is pretty good. Think its 150 though, not 300mbps.
