Is this a good deal? Does US appliance have tax in CA? Does network file browser also have regular browser functionality?

I read online that with the latest firmware you can turn off the dreaded soap opera effect.

Active 3d too. I may just bite. I have been waiting since last june for a 65inch smart tv with 3d, I think the prices are prohibitive. Good price for a 60inch

mrnadir 02-28-2013 12:11 PM

I have the non 3d version of this tv (6500). Nice TV and no SopeOperaEffect BUT the thing is HEAVY. Its the heaviest 60" plasma TV (about 15lbs more than a similar panasonic).

Personally, I dont care about the weight. Once you mount it, does it really matter?

Anyhow, how much does it weigh with and without the pedestal? i cant find that info

80lbs without stand. Stand adds another 10 lbs. This is for the non-3d version but I suspect its about the same.

trojan_m50 02-28-2013 12:50 PM

Thank you for that information.

Does anyone know if it is ok to mount a 80lbs tv on this stand

http://www.zoostores.com/shop/cat...nQodlycAMg

It seems to have a max rating of 65lbs but will 15extra lbs really make that much of a difference. Arent these stress tested to twice that amount at least?

ah good price... but waiting for a 65" deal

piercene 02-28-2013 01:47 PM

This may be a stupid question, but with the 30 day free return, does that = a refund or would I be stuck with store credit?

I have a very similar stand, my TV is within its rated limit, and it clearly leans forward from the load. This one is even taller, so if you go over the rating, expect it to lean forward

removed.

are smart Tv and 3d important to you. I can compromise on 5 inches of tv space or even the 3d feature.

i would love a 65 inch too but even at $1300 I dont see any good deals. I have a 50 inch panny and I know it doesnt get better than Panny but in the interest of time im thinking doing it.

I have waited long for a decent deal - since june 2012. I hoped for something during Black Friday but the deals were terrible. Whats worse is, it isnt like I have missed any deal, just that none of them have satisfied even 2 out of 3 major reqs.

they have a 30 day refund and 2 day cancellation with no additional charges. Makes sense to buy now and think later?

I did some research and seems like the mount has 150 lb weight limit- the glass surface has a 65 lb weight limit.

Product Features

Contemporary black glossy powder coat frame
8mm/6mm black tempered safety glass
Swivel mount allows multi positioned viewing
Accommodates most LCD / Plasma TV’s up to 60-inch
TV weight capacity: 150-pound

Called up Z-lLine and it can take 150LBS so im cleared away. Will pull the trigger soon

Dont need 3d or any other smart in it. just a decent 65" regular ...

mrnadir 02-28-2013 03:30 PM

i bought the non-3d version of this TV from costco for $800 plus $60 for 2+3yrs of squaretrade.
Frys has had this TV in store for $1000 for some time but theres tax and no free 3d glasses

geocacher99 02-28-2013 03:45 PM

This is exactly what I want. Unfortunately I have no disposable income remaining because of my addiction to this site.... The real SD effect

curiousity 02-28-2013 06:13 PM

No tax makes this super slick for Cali.

b1gbleu 02-28-2013 06:36 PM

I've got the 60pz750. Beautiful picture but no flash support. so much for a smart tv. I've heard Sammy and Panny are better for streaming, I use my Panny blue ray player for that.

I can't find the article right now, but I just read that mfg's have just relaxed MAP (minimum advertised price) on the 2012 models, because the 2013's are in store now. Obviously we want you checking the site every day (and clicking on banners!), but in all seriousness, I would keep a close eye out over the next few weeks. I'm guessing that we will continue to see these deals as stores clear out of that inventory w/ the mfg's blessing.

thank you for the information. i will keep my heads and keep on lookin and waiting

trojan_m50 03-01-2013 12:25 PM

I balked at the last minute too. Im gonna wait it out for a 65inch TV. the 60S60 and the 65S60 look very appealing and if they get some discounts going on those, or even a small break and no tax, I will jump on it.
I decided to give importance to PQ rather than Wi-Fi and 3D which I may rarely use. I already own a ROku and a PS3 which should take care of streaming content.

I finally caved and bought this!! I have been looking for weeks for a decent 60" deal with a solid return policy (just in case).

Does anyone know which Magic Remote works with this? There seem to be several different models.

I heard you can download an app onto your smart phone and save yourself the $80 for the magic remote.
