i wasn't sure if the coupon worked on this game, so i didn't bother posting it. even at $12.49 its an amazing price though.

it requires steam to play in case anyone is curious.

geki3 03-02-2013 08:07 AM

There should be a rule that "not live yet" shouldn't count as a 1st. Your post got buried, because you posted it 12 hours before it went live, and you didn't even bother to update it to say that it was live.

Whatever, I repped you both, yall act like there is a limited number of reps.

Lol, what about the already existing rule that you still have to use the search button to see if the deal has already been posted? Clearly I was in the wrong here... ;) I didn't bother to update it because I JUST WOKE UP. Deal was alive when I was asleep.

Ghnvt 03-02-2013 08:09 AM

Been waiting for this to drop this low. Not a huge fan of the series, but for 10 bucks, sure.

Horrible comparison. What games will be on sale? What prices? When is it coming? Do you know?

You and I may have some good guesses, but the fact is we don't know. That is why.

E82N55 03-02-2013 08:17 AM

i wasn't trying to step on anybodies toes. i found out about it, did a quick search, didnt see it and posted it. i don't care if i get the rep or whatever i simply wanted to post it since i thought it was a good deal.

You hardly did anything wrong. However, If you searched hitman, it should have came up. Did for me anyways.

i feel like im trying to defend myself over something such unbelievably trivial. i searched hitman absolution, got more than 3 pages, looked at the first page, didnt see it and posted it.

if this is the kind of response one gets for posting a deal i'll just wont bother posting from now on. im not going to do 30mins of research to see if someone had posted it 24hours before the deal went live. i posted it 13mins after it started.

Maybe if you re-read my post, you will understand I meant you didn't do anything wrong. We all make mistakes. But saying you couldn't find it is hard to believe. It was on the top of the first page. You also spelled hitman wrong in your original title maybe that was why.

Can this be activate on Steam?

Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition for PC $10 at GMG

Alright... sometimes SD makes me feel like I'm insane. I found this on GMG, so I did a search for "Hitman" on SD. Only thing that popped up recently was the PS3 and XBOX post. I looked pretty darn carefully and this thread was not in my search results. So I posted the deal. To check if my deal was posting, I did a search for "Hitman" and this thread showed up for 22 hours ago. It was not there when I did my initial search. That's happened to me once or twice before, too. It's very strange. Anyway, sorry for repost, but I did the dang search and the old thread didn't show up, swear to the Good Lord.

Add it to your cart, then use code GMG20-P4DLK-FKYRS to bring down to $10.

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/u...dition-na/

Activates on Steam

The Professional Edition includes:
a 72-page Digital Artbook
A Behind The Scenes "Making of video"
"Agency Gun Pack" DLC, which includes an upgraded silencer and laser sights and the following exclusive weapons:
Agency Jagd P22G: A modern top-tier pistol
Agency HX UMP: Powerful high-caliber SMG
Agency SPS 12: Brutal semi-automatic shotgun

I will say the SD search blows it often. I don't even think it default searches on most recent posts which it should.

Just pulled the trigger, very tough to say no on $10 for the pro version. Just activated it on steam. Thanks OP.

Did the same thing to me about 10 minutes ago when I reposted (thought was original posting) the deal. Did not show up in search for hitman. Does now, though. I wonder if had something to do with the mods prepping it for frontpage?

I've had this same thing happen with previous SDs as well. The reposters in this thread are NOT crazy. ;)

Anyway, GJ finding it way before us. :P

Did you search "hitman: absolution or "hitman absolution"?

The search function is sensitive to punctuation.

It's a good strategy.

Which is better? Sell one unit at $50 each to one person, or sell two units at $25 each to two people?

The latter, because you are generating future interest within two people, and also those two people potentially can spread the word about your game better than a single person. And lastly, if your game sells in volume, you can claim that it sold 5 million copies rather than 2.5 million copies.

Because this game is piece of shit..... square enix never perpared to support ps3/xbox/pc 3 platforms and that's why there are so few patches (I bet there won't be another patch) and so many issues with the game....

Since others are reporting not receiving the $2 credit (nor is is listed on their page), I'm assuming you signed up with GMG with someone's referral link.

People that signup through a referral link get $2 credit when they make their first $2+ purchase. The user who the referral belongs to will also receive a $2 credit when the new user makes that purchase.

Square-Enix prices their games pretty aggressively. I think though that this isn't a reflection of the game being bad itself, but the trend in game sales in general. I know EA and other developers/publishers price their games pretty aggressively now. I remember reading about someone from EA actually discussing this trend that it was more profitable to price the games lower earlier in the product cycle because they would make it back up in volume. This is probably true considering the size of my backlog. If I knew games would stay at $50-$60 for a year or more I would only buy when I was ready (which is usually never due to backlog) versus buying it now at a low price and again never playing it due to my ever expanding backlog.

Because square enix puts more emphasis on the PC version. If you look at comparisons there is a lot more detail on the PC version of the game. They did this with Sleeping Dogs and Dues Ex. I think it should be this way, because PC's have so much more power in the hardware than consoles.

It's still great looking on consoles though.

joshownsyouall 03-02-2013 01:17 PM

Played this on pc. Absolutely loved it. Nothing quite like it. I'm very picky with games so those of you on the fence, just buy it. It's a fantastic game that you can tell was made with a lot of care and polish

Sold this as part of the AMD Never Settle bundle, but went ahead and paid $10 to get my own copy on Steam because of all the good reviews. Where are you guys seeing the $2 future credit and how do I redeem it? I didn't see any mention of it on checkout (used PayPal) nor do I see anything on my GMG account.

I didn't. Actually I didn't even make the title for it. My thread was merged with another one. And now appears that the title has changed again to:

Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition (PC Steam Digital Download) $10

So I would maybe disregard the 2 dollar promotion.

Xbox yes, its more down to earth. PS3s actually have more gaming power than computers. Look at the amount of DEDICATED cores it has. Designers still haven't fully tapped into the PS3's full potential processing power in their games.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

The PowerPC Broadband engine (Cell) is really a single core processor that is capable of running 7 concurrent threads. Much like a single bulldozer/piledriver module running two threads, but with 7 integer (and memory controllers) units running off of one single processor. The FPU on the cell is quite high, but once double-precision FPO is introduced, it's dog slow compared to modern processors.

Hilariously, the PS3 has been tapped for a long, long time now. It was only branded to be high-performance for a little while due to the price. A Radeon 3450 has almost DOUBLE the power at 48Gflops, while the PS3 is capable of 28.5Gflops (which is a theoretical maximum in single precision, mind you).

You are right about the threads. I did misspeak about the cores. However, I still do disagree about the dedicated threads being tapped into. GPU on the ps3 sucks, but the dedicated threads make up for the gpu.

A little story I heard from my cousin who works for Nvidia. To make a long story short, when Sony was developing the PS3, they came to Nvidia to do the graphics. Nvidia originally offered them their 8800 chip (their top of the line then) and when they were doing the talks, the engineers sent to meet with Sony in Hawaii got the feeling that the Sony people were simply picking their brain to develop their own GPU and weren't going to follow through with the deal.

Needless to say, the talks fell through and from hearing rumors they learned that Sony was indeed trying to develop their own GPU. Fast forward a year or two later and Sony comes back to Nvidia to ask for their GPU. Now since the Nvidia CEO smelled blood in the water, he upped the price from the initial offer and only offered them their older 7800 series. Sony, having squandered their time had to eat it and that is why the Sony PS3 had crappier graphics than the Xbox 360..

ruibing 03-02-2013 05:43 PM

A lot of console talk for a PC digital download. For a second, I thought I clicked on the wrong thread.

Seems like a good deal for the professional edition, though digital bonus stuff doesn't feel the same. Bought one.

Probably the lack of a definitive start date. If they had a start date, the posting would already have been mentioned as a head's up. I wouldn't put it past a BOT to date Gabe just to get that kind of intel!;)

This is a classic example why being patient pays off. That certain feeling of being able to buy something right out of the gate dies rather quickly when the next great deal pops up, and you are less than $10 away from being able to get it, given that you blew your whole gaming wad on one $60 title.

This plays into what I have been saying about digitally kept copies vice store boxed copies.
Back when the stores had literally up to two and a half shelves full of games, they could control the price longer. They fought for, and got the public to go kicking and screaming into the digital format. (Piracy, theft, etc was the battle-cry). Now this new format has left them with very few options, since competition on this front is fierce, and the product becomes like supermarket produce and must be sold quickly in order to prevent a total loss of any sale. it serves them right, and we are all much happier for their stupidity.:D
