Walmart Pennzoil Ultra / Platinum Motor Oil, 5 Qt $10 rebate

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Synthetic Motor Oil, 5 Qt $26.xx in store and $10 rebate (AND $5 off your next purchase),or
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Synthetic Motor Oil, 5 Qt $22.47 in store and $10 rebate (AND $5 off your next purchase). I thought $5 for next purchase would show up on the receipt upon first checkout, but no.

Full Synthetic with rebate @ $16 and $12 is already pretty good. I just changed. My DIY oil used to be Valvoline from Walmart @ regular $26.xx.

Platinum some jugs were with rebate form, but all ULTRA don't have any. Guess, online rebate for limit 2 is okay without the form.

@My local Walmart, Get the jug with rebate forms are the Platinum versions. Ultra were without and very few of them. 5W-30 were completely out. Valid 3/1-5/31. Went back and exchange for two of 5W20 ULTRA after reading the engine photos from other sites.

charms 03-02-2013 11:53 AM

Is the price $26.xx before or after you subtract the $10 rebate? Just wondering cause advanceauto has the pennzoil full synthetic for 29.99 before a $10 rebate.

SAFJrider 03-02-2013 12:04 PM

OR you can skip the $5 future purchase (you'll lose anyways) and donate it - get some good karma from doing an oil change yourself and helping out those that sacrifice for us - our veterans.

Yes, I would like to donate $5 of my rebate to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
I understand that the value of the rebate I receive will be decreased by this donation.

let the trolls come out!

ULTRA OR PLATINUM?

Ulta has more cleaning agents. It's probably a few bucks more then Platinum. I use Ulta to get more peace of mind.

T6 is the bomb, however that's on 1 gallon, if your car uses 4.5-5 qts you will need to purchase another quart separately which is about $6 by itself... making this much slicker because it's a 5qt jug

Fo sho! LOL. I'm still loaded with last year's G-Oil and even the Quaker synthetic oils that I would pass on this deal. I would've considered this deal if it weren't for G-Oil and Quaker oil deals last year...

I'm sure you know someone that'll accept a rebate for you to be able to get two jugs :bounce:

Then the next oil change you are short again... either way you need more than 4 quarts

That makes sense. I just happen to have quads, bikes and a car that'll need half a qt of oil over 5k miles. So having left over oil isn't an issue for me.

I ordered 3 gallons.

vairox 03-02-2013 04:48 PM

If the T6 was a 5 qt jug I'd be all over it, unfortunately they only make 4qters so it's rare I buy T6 unless it's on a super sale or something because I can get Pennzoil ultra/Platinum or Mobil 1 for quite a bit less.

yateswp 03-02-2013 06:10 PM

High paraffin content, great for starting fires!

Is the rebate online or i have to send it in.

tomciopaluch 03-03-2013 06:01 PM

I just went to my local Walmart and picked up 4 jugs of PU on sale for $21 a piece = with tax came out to= $89.04 i did 2 transactions 2 jugs per transaction i wonder if i can get $40 in rebates? If yes than my deal would be sweet $49.04 for 20 quarts equal to $ 2.45 per quart for PU i take that any day .

chrisexv6 03-04-2013 07:31 AM

Anyone know if this rebate is valid in CT?

Ive been noticing more and more rebates are no longer valid in CT (and/or RI), but this one just says "not valid in RI or where prohibited by law"

GPz1100 03-04-2013 10:33 AM

Are the limits specified per offer number, or house hold total. That is, for this offer, they say limit 2. There's another offer that gives $25 off when you register your car for their engine warranty (http://www.pennzoilwarranty.com/our_warranty/). The limit on that one is 1 per vehicle. Would be great to stock up on this.

Pennzoil hasn't been refined from Pennsylvania crude (a high paraffin crude) for decades. Plus, this is a synthetic so even if there was any paraffin in it it would have been removed. Lastly, Pennzoil is a Shell Oil product.

Zodiacs 03-04-2013 10:55 AM

0w-20 only comes in the platinum, for prius and mazda skyactiv owners :)

iridium 03-04-2013 10:57 AM

Limit 2 rebates per person, household or address (e-mail and physical).

GPz1100 03-04-2013 04:57 PM

I contacted sopus earlier this afternoon. They recommend having one set per receipt, and submitting them separately. Doing both in one envelope may cause one to be rejected.

getbigtony 03-04-2013 08:25 PM

Anyone know the difference between the two, if there is a difference? I see the OP states same oil at difference prices; different weight? Never used synthetic because of price, and lazy with rebates, but I'm seeing no deals on conventional so I'm about to try it out.

NVM, bottom of first page, someone stated Ultra has more cleaning agents. So both should wear about the same, unless you're dirty!!

Wow! People must be cleaning out the shelves around here. I stopped by 5 different WMs and only found 2 5w-30 Platniums.

GPz1100 03-09-2013 09:28 PM

Mine had a bunch of platinums, and quite a few ultra's.

I did buy up all the 5w30 ultra earlier in the week (4 containers).

ladnick 03-11-2013 07:53 PM

Is this deal dead? I see Pennzoil Ultra for $7.82 / Qt which makes it almost $40 for oil - $10 rebate = $30 for 5 Qt ...

Those vehicles will run perfectly fine with 5w-30.

GPz1100 03-11-2013 08:29 PM

^^Bad idea. If a vehicle calls for 0w20, don't run 5w30 in it. The thinner oil is necessary because of tighter clearances. Running too thick of an oil may result in inadequate lubrication and engine damage.

If it is available and at the same price, might as well use 0w-20.

If it is not available or you can get the 5w-30 for less money, use the 5w-30.

tomciopaluch 03-12-2013 04:40 PM

Mine 07 Accord calls for 5w-20 and i did us that till i hit around 90k and switched to 10w-30

I found a jar of "Ultra class synthetic" for $21, it does not say "full synthetic" like the platinum does. I guess it is a synthetic blend and does not qualify for the rebate?

I only received one $10 rebate today. I purchased 2 jugs. I will call to find out tomorrow...not happy.

iflabs 04-30-2013 11:23 PM

Also submitted two rebates online. Only one is showing up. Looks like we're all in for it.

myakoob 05-04-2013 09:49 AM

Can someone assist me with this :

http://www.pennzoil.com/motor-oil/ links tells me on my Dodge Grand Caravan 2000 with 128K miles i can use :

Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30 & Pennzoil Platinum SAE 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil

But my mechanic insists that i use 10W40 ONLY as that is best for that high mileage.

Can someone comment which one would be best to use ?

Thank you ~

GiggidyGiggidy 05-16-2013 08:03 AM

I received my first check a few days ago and like a few people have mentioned, I have not gotten the second one yet.

So, I called and even though the online promotions search tool was not showing the 2nd rebate, the cs rep said that it WAS showing that it processed in the system on their end and would be in the mail in the next week or so. I'll keep an eye out for it and update accordingly.

Anyone worried about not getting both rebates just hang in there for a bit or give them a call. They were very friendly and helpful.

droford 05-16-2013 10:18 AM

I bought two jugs on the same receipt and got "Invalid - Duplicate Reimbursement Code" and no rebate.

Probably will never purchase from them again if they want to pull this scam.

iflabs 05-16-2013 01:18 PM

Got my first check. The second rebate didn't show up on their site until a few days ago. I submitted both rebates on the same day via online., two separate receipts.

iridium 07-17-2013 11:34 AM

I also received an Invalid store for buying at Walmart. Going to have to call tomorrow. No where on the form did it say only some store applied. Not really happy about this at all. If it was not good oil I would take it back.
