Got 3 of the Point and also 12mth Live card for $35. Thanks!

Thanks, been waiting for a deal on the headset. Does this stack with the 10% off V.me promo?

Edit: Answering my own question, no it does not stack (only one promo code per item). :(

I suspect I'd love White Witch, as I'm a child of FF1-4, and love FFT and all things JRPG... However, $51 still feels like a lot of money. Someone convince me or direct me to a convincing sale. Reps and Thanks OP!

mrnadir 03-05-2013 10:23 AM

This is for PS3!

einandrew 03-05-2013 10:23 AM

keep in mind that if you lose/break the usb part it becomes un-usable. You cannot buy a replacement and have to purchase the whole headset again.

The headset doesn't have much of a firmware, but there was a PS3 firmware update that went along with the headset. As someone else said, though, issues that occured then should since have been fixed.

nextbond 03-05-2013 11:39 AM

How can a headset with 2 speakers, become a 7.1 surround system. Are there 7 speakers surrounding your head in it? Just marketing.

dhodson 03-05-2013 11:44 AM

If I'm not mistaken it simulates 7.1

You only have 2 ears.

Really we have only 2 ears? Thanks for enlightening us.

I don't believe a headset even with simulation is going to achieve surround sound.

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/...13245.html

Even with real surround sound systems at home, the sound wave is perceived by your two fixed eardrums at their fixed locations.

It's no different than say bringing all of those speakers and putting them around your ear.

The biggest difference in my book is that the G930 gives the virtual 7.1 sounds only on PCs, this one here only on the PS3.

Edit: Actually, the G930 doesn't work with the PS3 at all, while the Sony model here at least gives stereo sound when used on PCs.

Would be nice if it could stack with other promotions. I used up my points during last week's Ultimate GoD sales and are looking for more. But I could get the points from crazygamertime for cheaper.

sTEPSIDe 03-07-2013 07:30 AM

However,

Using this link
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6874103300

Which is a 1600 point card for $18.49 with ($19.99 with $1.50 instant off) and promo code VMEPROMOMAR13 drops it to $16.64 which is $17% off instead of the 15%.

Requires you to use the V.me upon checkout through.

Yes I'm in Tennessee, but they should collect taxes on this item. It is the same as a gift card. Toys R Us doesn't charge me when I purchase them locally.

2 different things. Xbox live is a membership to their online gaming community. These are points, or currency to buy things on Xbox live such as games, Avatar items, movies, etc.

LizardSlayer 03-07-2013 07:55 AM

This comes to $42.47 for 4000 points.....the 4000 point cards hit $35 from time to time on Ebay/BUY.com.

Seems better to stock up then and wait till the next sale, that's what I do.....

No, you don't NEED both. The points can be used without XBOX Live Gold. But Gold is cheap, and you get lots of extra functionality, even if you don't play online. (I don't.) For me, it's worth it to get ESPN3, from which I get to watch TONS of sports. Mostly soccer, but martial arts competitions, cricket, rugby. That kind of stuff.

Ya you technically don't need both. You can use points to download games from the Xbox marketplace and play them on your console offline. But if you play games like Halo, or Call of Duty and want to play online, you'll need an Xbox live membership to play online. $35 is a good price for a membership though, it's worth it to be able to play others online in my opinion.

Honestly, spend the extra money and go with the Sony Pulse.
http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wir...sony+pulse

It Looks better, feels more comfortable, better expandable options such as:
-3.5mm audio capable
-USB receiver as a 3.5mm audio input. Coupled with a external battery pack, you have a wireless headset for any analog device
-Hidden Mic

Also, they do go on sale... lowest price I found was $99.

iSlicle 03-07-2013 10:08 AM

I didn't buy anything but I must admit I watched the headset commerial on the newegg link to see some boobies :O

If I wasn't still sitting on 72,000 (45 cards) worth of MS Point cards from the Target BF pricing mistake, I'd be scooping these. Not bad considering I started with 120 cards :) +rep to OP

firebirdx01 03-07-2013 10:28 AM

Ni No Kuni is great price- maybe Amazon will match it.

shiggity80 03-07-2013 10:31 AM

The headset is pretty good. I've own a pair and have had it since launch. It was pretty good at launch but was missing a key feature which was the in-ear monitoring. A firmware for the PS3 shortly after the headset launch fixed that up and provided in-ear monitoring support. I was ecstatic.

However, after another firmware update for the PS3, Sony must have toned down the in-ear monitoring as I don't hear my own voice as loudly anymore. Even with the setting for it turned up to the max, I find it a bit too soft for my liking. I thought when they first introduced it, it was the perfect volume.

Overall though, it's a great headset and I use it for COD. I can hear a lot of detail that I normally wouldn't with just my regular 5.1 external set up.

Amazon had the game for $49.99 for awhile, but alas it's back to $59.99.

This newegg price is actually better for those who get charged tax from Amazon but not from newegg.

$51 still seems kind of high, but I might bite as I love JRPG and I love Stuido Gihbli.

THIS! My usb dongle for some reason decided it wouldn't work past 6" anymore. I remedied the situation by buying a 6ft long usb extension cable. Sure it's still wireless but what's the point? I'm considering selling the whole kit and buying the new headset from SONY.

Nice, I'm going to have to try the bot. It's just part of my morning routine to pull it up and do my searches. It doesn't take me very long. I use it to get Amazon gift cards.

It certainly doesn't kill me to pay for Xbox Live... but it's a bummer that Microsoft charges for services that Sony doesn't. Play online? Free on PS3. Watch Netflix? Free on PS3 (aside from Netflix membership).

I use 4 accounts, so I get can 4x the points. I also use the rewards bot to do the searches for me since I can't stand bing.

Wow, thanks. How does using multiple accounts work? Like.. how does the rewards bot know which account you want to use, etc?

Xbox technically you have to have Xbox Live Gold in order to use Netflix. Not so with PS3.

Doesn't matter to me since I'm paying for Gold anyway, but if you don't have gold, that's gotta be annoying.

dropthehmrb 03-07-2013 05:23 PM

how long has it been taking to get the code for the xbox points?

You login to one at a time, or if you use a browser and its quicker. Open both browsers, login to a bing account on each browser, and run a bot on each browser. Theres a pay version where you can do multiple at once, but if you have like chrome and IE, it works just the same

Umm don't think you understand the point being made. Xbox requires that you have to pay for a gold membership before you can launch the Netflix app ontop of the netflix subscription whereas with the PS3 you don't need to pay to go use online services.

No it won't unfortunately, but user sTEPSIDe said that with the instant $1.50 off for the 1600 points card and promo code VMEPROMOMAR13 using V.me to checkout, you can get it for $16.64.

vahnz 03-08-2013 08:02 AM

Haven't gotten mine yet. You?

FatNinja 03-08-2013 11:30 AM

I ordered 1200 points last night and paid with PayPal. I ordered another 1600 points this morning and paid with v.me. I have yet to get the code for either order. This will be my last time purchasing MS points through NewEgg. Both Amazon and Best Buy have e-mailed the code to me within minutes of placing an order.

I think part of it might have been the fact that you purchased during business hours? Not sure though. Newegg tends to be slow and varied for their digital orders, or so I've heard.

Yeah you are probably right, didn't think of that.

Well, I finally got my code for last night's order. An 18 hour turn-around for a digital order is completely unacceptable nowadays. Luckily, I wasn't planning on buying any games or DLC immediately. If I need to for the future, I'm better of with other merchants or Microsoft itself for quick delivery of the code. Still no code for my second order from this morning so it seems like NewEgg is definitely not set up to deliver the codes upon payment.

Gilster 03-08-2013 01:14 PM

All I care about is the price. Who cares if you have to wait a day or two to receive your code. Big deal. Not like it's a week. Have patience people.

mtgredline 03-08-2013 06:23 PM

I ordered at 6:40pm last night and received the codes this morning at 10am.

WendyD5278 03-08-2013 11:02 PM

what is v.me?
