Comes out to around $180 assuming you can sell Black Ops for $30.

I'm going to return my cowboom purchase, it's worth an extra $50 to get a new unit and an extra 4gb memory card! :D

I'm not saying you won't be able to dupe some poor soul, but Black Ops might be a hard sell. Good luck!

EDIT: Well I'll be damned. It's selling for $20-28 on ebay.

lol, we'll see what happens.

I've seen the youtube reviews and how bad the game is, but you'd be surprised at how many people actually like the game. There are a lot of good reviews for it on amazon and various online forums.

LegalHustler 03-06-2013 06:28 AM

I'm selling a brand new 3G version for $230 on CL

It sells for $35 new, that will NEVER happen (especially due to the quality of the game )

It was actually 140 after taxes and shipping.

The game and memory card come in a clamshell. There's no box for the game.

Damn. That definitely reduces the re-sale value. Good info to know. Guess I'll hold out for another incredible deal or BF, whichever comes first.

I am not sure if this is true. I checked some un-boxing videos and it was in the actually game case. Here is one just to show.

I think this is a great deal if you can sell that game for 30 bucks! :)

LiquidSmoke420 03-06-2013 11:10 AM

I love how this came out the day after I bought one for my bro. Amazon already shipped, so gunna refuse it and pick this up. Thanks OP. Repped and bought.

Cowboom available grade quality = 4

Ill pay the extra $90 for one that wasn't on display at a BestBuy for 6 months, getting the crap beat out of it by 6 year olds any day.

Just an FYI, there were grade 5s at Cowboom, just a bunch were missing cables and stuff.

Decent deal here, tho. As others have said, the game sucks...4GB card is decent, but you'll want to pick up a bigger one.

TU

fenwaynomar45 03-07-2013 05:50 AM

Personally I am going to wait. there was just a price cut in japan and apparently it quadrupled the sales. I am guessing US will follow especially since it will help ps4 sales if you own a vita. Hoping it goes cheaper

brokeandfamous 03-07-2013 05:51 AM

coming from a current psp vita owner. going to need a 32gb memory card. I suggest getting a ps + memberships u have new ps vita games every week with your membership and cod sucks for the vita do not waste your time. The assassin's creed vita bundle the game came in a clamshell case. I would think the same for this bundle as well but I might be wrong

Droozy 03-07-2013 05:52 AM

in 4 1

jbonez21 03-07-2013 06:05 AM

Newegg & Shoprunner are awesome. Ordered yesterday and tracking shows it will be here Friday.

googlebing 03-07-2013 06:14 AM

ok deal.. I would wait to buy it at a price like the assasians creed bundle was sold on black froday for 179.99

momomchine 03-07-2013 06:20 AM

Even though I'm quite happy I got my Assassin's Creed bundle on Black Friday, I'd still prefer a black Vita to a white one. Just a personal preference I guess.

xveganrox 03-07-2013 06:22 AM

Eh tempting. I got one of the 3G cowboom vitas for $140 total (condition 5) and it's in good condition/working well... Think I'll stick with it

I REALLY wouldn't count on that. I got the Assasins Creed bundle - all that came in it was the game cart - loose, naked, without packaging or anything else. Which is why you see all the unpackaged carts for AC on ebay. That alone has cut the resale value to around $20 for what is actually a better game.

Not saying you won't get it in a full sealed retail pack - but none of us did in with AC.

Kal-el 03-07-2013 06:30 AM

My brother has this bundle (got it back in November or December). His game came sealed and he flipped it on eBay for $20 something.

Interesting, but I guess that's true. I've gotten game/controller bundles for PS3 where the game wasn't sealed.. or was it? Now I can't remember!

Meadowlands 03-07-2013 07:01 AM

I'd wait for a price cut. After the spike of sales in Japan, I bet this comes down to $199 soon. Probably can get it at target with a $25 gift card too soon.

Honestly this is the same price. If they cut it to $199 plus 7% sales tax you're at $212. :D

The Vita recentlty dropped price in Japan.. and sales went up 6x. Which was even better than the nintendo DS and newer 3DS for the first time. Sony has said that it was only dropping the price in Japan, but I bet around the time of E3 they will announce a price drop in the USA, where the Vita has been selling really poorly. Sony is trying to use the Vita to compete against the Wii U and it's handheld controller you can walk away with.

Here is an article about the sales spike:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/...e-in-japan

I personally am gonna hold off and see if the price drop brings any better prices. There are just too few must have games for me personally at the moment. But I would love a vita at a cheaper price point.

Cowboom is used missing many items. By the time you buy all the cables and memory that is missing with the cowboom you would be better off with the bundle. Have seen cowboom and they look bad.

norazi 03-07-2013 08:06 AM

The amazon bf bundle was the best deal

$180 shipped for:
- limited edition white vita
- 4gb card
- assassins creed liberation ($20 on eBay)
- all stars battle royals ($20 on eBay)
- 3 Mo. PS+ subscription
- free PS+ games (uncharted, gravity rush, ff tactics)

I sold all the games and men card and ended up paying about $100 for a brand new vita... Bought a 64gb men card for $60 during another slick deal and pretty much never had to buy a game thanks to PS+

You're absolutely right my friend, but that deal has long since come and gone. :(

You're livin' in the past man'!

ff4paladin 03-07-2013 08:12 AM

Eh, still about $200 too much for me to pull the trigger. :lmao: Thanks anyway OP!

tlp 03-07-2013 08:36 AM

This is so tempting. I'd really rather get just the system and then buy a huge memory card and some games I want.

LTR 03-07-2013 09:11 AM

Isn't this $209 dollar bundle a better deal if you just want the console more then the bundled game?

No, comes out to $220.xx after tax. Also, it doesn't include a 4gb memory card.

Yeah I guess the memory card is what really sweetens the deal. Although in NJ I pay tax with Newegg, so most of the "savings" goes to covering the tax.

err... wouldn't you pay tax on it at a store which means it is still cheaper on newegg?

Ruy 03-07-2013 10:07 AM

I can get this for $163 deciding to bite or nah. Also, are any good games coming out for this system?

Since he's also taxed at Newegg it would cost $212+tax, Target is $209+tax, but Newegg includes a 4gb memory card valued around $20.

I do think that eventually we will see a price cut to the $199 area for an unbundled Vita. Is that "better" than this deal was? Not even close. I just sold the CoD game for $29 on ebay., plus you get a 4gb memory card. You're never going to see a MASSIVE price cut in one step to like $150, that's unreasonable. Maybe you'll see one in summer and/or one around the holidays, and maybe you'll see a killer Black Friday deal again for even less (or, more likely, simply with more stuff or a newer game).

You can't compare what they did in Japan with what they're doing here. They have to respond to each market appropriately. For one thing, the cost of the unit was absurdly high in Japan to begin with, higher than here. Plus it was selling worse there. And also, improving 6x is really just over the course of a week. Of course an item sells really well the week after a price cut. And we also have no data about whether such a price-cut on the horizon was leaked, which would've HURT sales in the weeks leading up to it. Simply saying sales went up six fold the week after a pricecut doesn't really tell you much of anything.

Sony has repeatedly denied that a pricecut is imminent in the US. I was holding out too, but at $215 for a bundle, this is too good a deal to hold out. A pricecut cannot reasonably yield substantially better prices and if it's not coming until June at E3, then this is a great deal. Of course the price will EVENTUALLY drop, it has to. But I don't see it as imminent.
