If you are buying 3 or more pairs of the green, it is cheaper to buy them on Amazon [amazon.com] since they're offering 25% off when you order 3 or more pairs. Comes out to $5.09 a pair.

They are really thin, and will not last very long, but good comfortable socks.

It helps wick away moisture for people who may blister easily.

My Vibram 5 fingers are such a great fit, I can't imagine socks fitting in there too.

If I run more than 10 miles in Vibrams without socks I get blisters. Not to mention that the shoes reek with no socks and I keep them in my office at work. YMMV and YFMV (Your Feet May Vary).

Thanks OP. In for 4 pairs.

I think it just depends on the person. I can wear socks with mine, and they are not loose, but my wife cannot wear socks in hers. These aren't made by Vibram but are frequently sold with them, since at least with the wool blend ones they are quite well made.

JennyQ 03-06-2013 07:01 PM

I bought two pair of these for my husband a few months ago. It was a deal on here, what a surprise! The first time he wore them they ended up with several holes (and yes he does clip his toenails). Ha, TMI, sorry. :P

Osupikapp1 03-06-2013 07:05 PM

I wear socks with mine... I'm up to 3 pair of Vibrams, and about 6 pairs of injinji and a couple pairs of Fila toe socks as well. It's a personal thing, if your vibrams are tight then you probably shouldn't wear socks, but the injinji's can be had very thin, and after 6 months the only reason i've stopped using a pair of socks is that one went to the sock monster in the sky or something.
Got a 3 pack of orange ones from amazon at christmas and Love them... my wife hates them because they draw extra attention to the vibrams.. and she doesn't like those much either.

ghettojiggalo 03-06-2013 07:16 PM

I've got a few pairs and while they're really comfy (I wear with regular shoes), the lightweights have worn down pretty badly while the midweights are still going strong.

Tempted to buy the female socks for 3.93

Natosports 03-06-2013 08:43 PM

I have these (from Amazon). I wear a size 8. Ordered a Medium. They fit real nice. They look small for a Medium, but stretchable. I like them, but I would still prefer the normal (not lightweight) version.

milnerpt 03-06-2013 09:00 PM

I love any wool sock.... I got a set of these socks... Im on the fence about them, as they are a distinct L and R, which is a little annoying.

Also, as they separate your toes, my feet actually get a little cold in them around the house (think the difference between wearing mittens and gloves... hands are warmer in mittens.

For most people, these shoes stink pretty bad within a few weeks of wear. The socks avoid this.

If your shoes do stink, I recommend washing them in a vinegar dilution; 1c vinegar to 1gal water should be plenty, might even be able to scale back to 0.5c vinegar to 1gal water.

I bought several pairs of them because 1. They are normal weight (light weight wears out EXTREMELY FAST) and 2. Sizing is universal, size L is both Large for woman and men (refer to sizing chart.) They do not distinctively mean different sizes of sock, the base off of EU measurements. So I bought them even though I am a man, the socks were a killer deal and I do not really care about the color because most people are going to give you funny looks wearing FiveFingers anyways!

Injinjis are such ripoffs. I bought 3 pairs oflthem and they wore down after just a couple runs. Now I just buy generic toe socks for about a buck a pair and they worked fine through 50k‘s and triple marathons. They don't last, but not a big deal since I bought 20 pairs for $21.

PetetheGreek 03-06-2013 10:22 PM

Good to know. I bought 2 pairs. If they start to fall apart after a couple of runs, I can always return them. REI has a great return policy.

Absolutely. Just about the only thing not covered by REI's satisfaction guarantee are items purchased at used gear sales (those purchases are final).

redpriestown 03-06-2013 11:02 PM

I've used injinji socks for running for a while. It keeps my toes from rubbing against each other and blistering. I am due for new ones (as I've had my same 4 pairs for almost 2 years). I wear them with regular running shoes, and they do a great job. Definitely weird the first time I wore them, but I was over it about 1/2 of a mile into the first run. Looking up the ones I bought on amazon (Linky [amazon.com]) I'm not sure how they compare to these in terms of durability. The ones I have seem like a medium thickness -- not super lightweight. So that makes me wonder about the durability of these.

As a little bit of a forewarning, they always take me a minute or so to put on each foot. Maybe I need to stretch more or something...

Eleebob7 03-06-2013 11:18 PM

GREAT deal for these socks. I'd not buy these socks though.

I've been running in Vibrams for 4 years now and I started off just washing them. Bad idea. The shoe straps and seams came undone fairly fast. The pair that I had only lasted me about a year. The next pair I got, I decided to go with wearing Injinji's. I started off with the normal ankle socks that were thicker. They put a LITTLE bit of squeeze in my shoes but it wasn't anything that caused discomfort.

I saw these at a health expo for $11 / pair and jumped at the opportunity. A year later, a year of not running as often as I had before, these socks are already splitting open. The thin aspect means flimsier. The other Injinji, the thicker ones, are still going strong and I'd say I have about 4x more miles on those thicker socks.

TL:DR - There's a reason they're $6. They don't last long.

xveganrox 03-06-2013 11:33 PM

I've got like 6 pairs of these that I got about a year ago for $10 a pair and they've held up well. They're "lightweight," it's in the title, don't wear them for marathons. Wear them for everyday activity in your vibrams or street shoes and you'll be happy with them.

Ahh nice! $3.83 a pair for the large stripey ones too. I like getting them a size larger normally anyway, in for 12 :)

THUMBS UP! I bought 10 pair since the seams on Vibrams rip my feet up. Great deal.

I have super flat feet from running without shoes for years. I started using Vibrams and the seams in them tear my feet in funny spots. The socks will put a layer between my skin and shoe. There's only so much medical tape a foot can take. LOL

Because toe socks are being sold for $1-$5 shipped no tax by Chinese ebayers. I have a pair of Injini I bought for $10+ and they are nothing special --besides being toe socks.

Just a heads up if you need 3 or more green pairs. Amazon has them [amazon.com] for about $5.09 each if you buy 3 or more. Unfortunately, its only green.

I have these - they are thin - pain to put on but your five fingers won't stink!

Also don't forget the added benefit of using these in normal shoes say if it's cold or wet out. I used a thicker - much thicker version of these for my marathon run in the rain.

So if those thicker versions were on sale I'd say yes get it. These are more of a liner

J03 03-07-2013 05:44 AM

I'll give a pair a shot. The cheapo ones on ebay don't even come close to my foot size.

bobley 03-07-2013 05:57 AM

Bought a bunch...always wanted to try, but I suspect most will go back.

Everyone seems to be ordering quick as some I wanted where gone before I could check out.

bobley 03-07-2013 06:01 AM

Why would toe socks be warmer? Isn't that the opposite logic to mittens are warmer than gloves?

joeball 03-07-2013 06:52 AM

11 here

I'm in for 11 pair between my wife, son and me. You are either a five-finger person or you aren't. Same thing for these socks. They feel great. We use them as casual wear or lite exercise. We don't run in them. I will also wear the injinji socks as a base layer for work (UPS delivery) during the winter.
Great price on a great sock if you like them!

Some of the minimalists shoes aren't as forgiving, when it comes to retaining odor. I really like the Reebok SkeleToe shoes, more than my Vibrams in fact, but they seem to hold the odor a little more than my Vibrams. Washing them every other day is bit of a hassle. Wearing socks pretty much takes care of this issue completely.

The Injinji socks are very comfortable, and are about the highest quality toe sock on the market. I paid as much as $11 per pair, and felt like it was a very good investment! I love the socks, and they serve their purpose very well.

Ebay, but they are not for the large footed. None of the toe socks on ebay work for Mens 12 or up.

J03 03-07-2013 08:50 AM

Hey before I pull the trigger, how is the sizing on these? I wear a 14 shoe so I'm about to buy the XL but those "extended sizing" socks you see for "shoe sizes 13-16" are always too large. The heal will be half way up my ankle even though my shoe size is right in the middle. Are these the same?

Thanks OP. In for 4 pairs.

x2 these are a huge benefit to VFF. They are thin enough that they fit in them fine, but yeah it may be tight if your VFF are already snug.

I wear these socks for marathons too and they have 100% resolved all blisters in marathons and ultras. It keeps the toes from rubbing on each other.

AggieEric 03-07-2013 09:06 AM

Awesome deal. Have just been thinking I needed to get more of these. I wear my VFF's to work, so I wear these socks (actually the crew length which are also on sale) with them.

Thanks OP! I'm in for 9 (enough to get free shipping).

I don't wear socks with the shoes I work out in, and the stink something bad. Washing them reduces the smell, but it doesn't go away completely.

Great to wear with flip flops too, :)

intotheforge 03-07-2013 10:44 AM

I have a pair of these and don't own any toe shoes. I wear mine with flip flops when it is cold out and I still want to wear flip flops. Mine have held up just fine and are good quality. My only issue with them is how much longer it takes to put these on than regular socks. Of course, it would probably help if I had an easier time reaching my toes in the first place... :)

If you need 3 or more pairs of the green socks, check out this post. Almost a dollar cheaper on amazon.

ginolee 03-07-2013 12:56 PM

Here is another reason for buying these toe-glove socks. At first I wondered who would need socks like these, but these socks are a godsend for those who have athletes foot as they wick moisture away in between the toes where it can get fiercely itchy. Ask any ex-military personnel or hikers who wore boots on the ground for hours, sometimes days, on end and many have had some mild case of athletes foot. These socks help alleviate some of the itching by keeping the space between your toes dry.

Also Injinji make good quality socks that will not wear-out too quickly. All socks will wear thin after multiple washings over time (yes even Thorlos), but I've noticed the cheaper the socks the quicker the holes appear and less likely to maintain its shape. So cheap socks are generally not a good value over time.

Pinching pennies on certain types of merchandise is certainly this Slickdealers' way of life, but on footwear and socks I never compromise. Get the best (not necessarily the most expensive) quality pair of shoes and socks for your particular feet. Take care of your feet and your feet will...well you know...

I do prefer to wear the socks. I was getting blisters from the seams in my KSOs (not on the soles of my feet) and the socks solved that problem quite nicely.

pdot 03-07-2013 06:02 PM

Used a pair of these for the Tough Mudder last year in vermont, worked so great. I usually get blisters on one toe on each foot and that was completely avoided due to these socks. Amazing. Got home and bought another pair immediately after running TM. :)
