it8O22 03-07-2013 10:09 AM

Thanks, ordered!
Is there any mac option? Also how this works with multiple installations? To play in family do I need to order once more for another user account?

pastramiavocado 03-07-2013 10:59 AM

Thanks!

Chewyp0rk 03-07-2013 11:25 AM

Grabbed the DLC, thanks!

Dustpanda 03-07-2013 11:37 AM

Would the DLC pack work with a Steam install of TtR?

dAdXeR 03-07-2013 11:41 AM

Anyone get an emu via Amazon before? How long does it take to get your emu if you don't have Prime?

RonDo 03-07-2013 11:49 AM

Sweet, gonna pick up that DLC.

sketchfactor 03-07-2013 11:51 AM

Amazing deal. Been wanting to get the DLC for a long time now. Thanks!

MrFlyTrap2 03-07-2013 12:13 PM

Reading more about the game but can you play this with like 4 people in the room taking turns? Kinda sounds like a fun game to grab for small gatherings. The specs seem to talk about multi player being online only.

sxy2003 03-07-2013 12:28 PM

what is this?

Cerb 03-07-2013 12:30 PM

Awesome - missed the last deal - i'm just glad it came back!!!

LadySandry 03-07-2013 12:35 PM

Dang, want this but for IPad. Thanks for posting.

Looks like it was based off a board game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tick...video_game)

Correct, everywhere I'm looking, there is no way to play this locally multiplayer on one PC. You'd have to each have it installed and play a private multiplayer game.

CaptPicard 03-07-2013 01:01 PM

Bought the Ticket to Ride DLC Pack to go with the main game, which I bought in the last deal! :D

Chewyp0rk 03-07-2013 01:09 PM

I choo-choo-choose this to be a great deal. Easy game to pick up, and fun for all ages.

dngrcnnn 03-07-2013 01:24 PM

I also picked up the DLC to go with the game I got last week. Cheers SD!

ResidentPony 03-07-2013 01:31 PM

Ticket To Ride is based on one of the best board games on the market.
(Ranked 79th overall, 8th in Family) [boardgamegeek.com]
When you open the box there's a slip of paper inside with a free download code for the computer game.

sevast 03-07-2013 01:42 PM

checked the steam forums. There is no hot-seat play (multi-person on one computer) play either local or online. This means that the only local player options are for playing against the computer.

I don't think I can buy two copies of this on one steam account either so that would mean to have it on two computers that my wife and I would have to have two steam accounts--that's such a pain. If I could just buy two copies and and have them in my steam account I'd so totally go for this. We can't easily seperate to two steam accounts now because some of her games and my games are in my account already.

The slightly good news is that the ios game and pc game play on the same servers so I guess we could get the pc version and the ios version...

Putts 03-07-2013 01:42 PM

Awesome deal, I was bummed that the TTR DLC wasn't discounted in the last sale, and thought about just picking it all up at full price. Glad I waited!

That's a bummer, this seems like a fun drinking game with friends if they had that.

Yeah, that's just not how it works, since Steam launches the games and controls the networking stack.

We have laptops, and separate accounts, so all I had to do was go back and re-buy it through Amazon, and tonight, will reveal the Steam product codes (among other things ).

Sadly, there is no way to play this, or really any sort of card-based game, since you'd have to go off the honor system with all the cards you secretly hold. This isn't a problem in other luck turn based games, like Monopoly, where it doesn't matter if people know what you hold.

Oh that's totally true, I haven't played the game so I didn't even think about that! Moot point

Kinda viewed it like Monopoly from the description.

swagdrj 03-07-2013 02:24 PM

I got 5 dollars amazon digital credit from preordering Tomb Raider and I decided to us it on this deal. THANKS!

I do however, highly recommend this game. It's unique and pretty addicting if you like strategy games. You start off with routes, and have to connect them, using colored cards to complete the routes as well as whatever trains you have left. The longer the segment, more points, but the more difficult to accumulate cards for. The longer the route, the more risk involved with people taking those segments and having you go alllllllll the way around, but in return a higher score. If the game ends and you haven't completed that route, you're out those potential points.

Lots of fun playing it multiplayer, there is some pretty good competition online, and you can also play for rank. The DLC is almost necessary, because the initial map has (more or less) a strategy that almost always wins, and the other boards have better balanced it up. It's like people who play WoW and moan about something being overpowered and then being nerfed... hard to do with an online board game

halfgingghost 03-07-2013 09:30 PM

Kind of sucks this is a PC only sale, considering they offer this game on the Mac.

ratinq 03-07-2013 11:34 PM

Glad i checked in and saw this deal tonight.

Agreed. Ticket to Ride is a great game! I own a hard copy, and I've played it with friends a bunch of times. The rules and mechanics are simple and straightforward, and the game play consists of a fair amount of luck / chance. This makes the game accessible for casual gamers and new players. At the same time, there's ample opportunity for strategery, which will appeal to more intense, hardcore gamers. Plus, who doesn't love trains!

Check out Wil Wheaton and friends playing the game here: Table Top: Ticket to Ride [youtube.com]

The game activates on Steam, and it's Mac compatible on Steam. So despite what the Amazon page says, you can purchase this deal and it will work just fine on Mac.

ghostofdavid 03-08-2013 06:33 AM

Sweet!

KevoD 03-08-2013 12:32 PM

bit on this. Girlfriend loves this game. $7 down won't hurt anyone. Thanks OP!

H.E.Pennypacker 03-09-2013 03:44 AM

I already have some of the Ticket to Ride expansions. If anyone buys the upgrade pack but already has some of the expansions, send me a private message and maybe we can work something out.

FYI, the iPad version does have a pass-and-play option. We've used this for trips in the car.
