320GB HDD Hard Drive Disk Kit for XBOX 360 Slim (Non-OEM) $42 AC, 250GB $36 AC

2 Attachment(s)
Apply Coupon Code = 15OFF (Very Last Page of Final Checkout)

Great reviews all around and these work pretty well just like the MS that cost 3x as much :D

I'm opposed to the posting of numerous threads of regular priced goods with a $15 off coupon code. One could literally make tens of thousands of threads for each individual possibility of what you can use the code with. Unless it's below retail/amazon I wouldn't post it.

OP needs to change the title. These are NOT OEM drives, but rather third party clones.

Also, this is a third party seller listing, not an item sold direct by Rakuten/Buy.com. The reviews are for the seller as a whole, not for this item.

It is very likely that this will not contain the backwards compatibility partition as most third party clones don't install it in order to avoid copyright infringement lawsuits from Microsoft.

mirai 03-16-2013 11:20 AM

Are these going to run original Xbox games (Either from disc or Xbox Originals from marketplace) or I need to add the partition myself?

thanks for the clarification:)

I am running out of space on my original 250GB and might just go for the OEM one with 3 games when the price is right.

Thanks OP, repped!!

How is this annoying? It creates awareness for possible uses for a coupon of this type. Someone may know that there is a coupon but doesn't really know the site or how they may use it. For example - maybe I don't need a 360 hdd, but something else for my 360 and then using the instructions, and MY OWN BRAIN I can find uses for the coupon.

It's like you're saying when you took basic math, you could only add if you saw the example and could not figure out the problems when you learned how to do the actual math. EX: 2+2=4. Now I know 2+2=4, but um....how much is 2+3? I did not see it in an example, or a forum thread, so therefore I don't know how to get the answer.

By posting a deal like this, it causes people to click on it out of curiosity to see how this deal can exist.

The OP's deal is legit - you can get the item for the price that's listed, so why is this a problem?

So, does this mean it won't work with one's Xbox? Thinking about getting one but have been holding off because OEM ones are generally unreasonably expensive.

generic harddrive will work with xbox 360 games but will not work with original xbox games without that special partition.

I just bought a WD Black 320GB and a caddy from fleabay. Cmonnnnnnnn fast load times!

spydersdeals69 03-16-2013 06:00 PM

Why pay $42 for the 320GB when this one is only $33?

http://www.rakuten.com/prod/320gb...55562.html

The only difference in the so-called "model number" is the last number.

Edit: NM. Didn't see the shipping charges. :(

Anybody that bought this want to chime in on how well it works? I don't want to play backwards compatibility but I barely got 40-50 bux to my name. Sure as hell beats Microsofts price though. How's it working for you guys and gals?!

Did it install just fine?
Does it work like a regular drive minus backwards compatibility?!

Code is dead. Got mine today. Transferring as I type. I will update as soon as I am done.

NYCkid 03-20-2013 06:00 PM

Well, install went smooth. No hiccups. Loaded my games, even updated my DLC content. Online now, playing. Sweet deal!!

CriticalCritic 03-25-2013 04:00 PM

So I have this thing, and a hard drive wire to connect it to my PC... but how do I make it backwards compatible? I've been searching for the past hour for a reliable tutorial and a reliable source for the partition file, but nothing yet. Can anyone provide some guidance?

Thanks for the heads up bro! Anybody else have any problem? Just trying to find out if this is a rare situation; might have to do with his 360, not the hard drive.
