This item is being sold from TigerDirect.

There is also a $10 Mail-In Rebate [highspeedbackbone.net] on it.

It doesn't list the eBay store as an accepted retailer, but all TigerDirect eBay orders are processed through the same order system as TigerDirect.com.

They are assigned a standard TigerDirect Order #.

When you receive your item, it will have a packing slip with an Order #, just as if you ordered it online.

Per the rebate terms: Copy of Receipt/Invoice or Packing List is acceptable.

You should get a packing list. Also, if you call TigerDirect and speak with a sales associate, they should be able to pull up a PDF copy of your invoice and e-mail it to you. :)

NOTE: I'm not guaranteeing this, although I think there's a high probability you can get the $10 rebate if you put in the work.

Not too sure about the rebate:

"Only valid on purchases made at: • TigerDirect.com Retail Outlets • TigerDirect.com Website"

I know that, but the eBay orders go through the same ordering system and will still generate a TigerDirect.com Order # when they process. Its just a matter of getting an Invoice from that point.

In for one. Just had my 800(?) die so I've been hoping for a cheap replacement.

jobenso 03-20-2013 08:15 AM

FYI:

It looks as the only remotes Logitech is offering is the Touch (12) and the 650 (5), everything else is discontinued. There should be new models coming out soon, I don't see any with RF support. Even the LINK was discontinued, so no more Phone or Tablet remotes. I just picked up a cheap (Refurb) LINK and I really like it. If I saw this, I would have got the 700 as I needed to add one more device and the 650 only allows 5.

I wouldn't bet on new models being out soon. Logitech is looking to get rid of the harmony division. They might sell it off to someone else, but I'm not sure they are going to pump much into design. I think they kept their 2 most profitable remotes and dumped the rest.

giggitygoo 03-20-2013 08:24 AM

This may be worth it, discontinued or not. Logitech's CEO has said that they are getting out of the remote business - which probably means they aren't planning anything new. We'll have to wait for the harmony business to be sold off and then some lead time for a new company to develop new remotes, and who knows when that will happen.

priceprince 03-20-2013 08:51 AM

Why are they getting out of the remote business, if they have the monopoly (pretty much) on univeral remotes? What are they going to focus on, ipad keyboard cases and crappy computer speakers?

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1001_3-...g-quarter/

"The electronics company posted an operating loss of $180 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2013 on sales of $615 million"

Although they sell a lot of remotes, the cost of doing business is even greater. However, like you, I think they're so dominant in the market that re-structuring should be able to make this division profitable.

Oh wow, I had no idea they were struggling so badly.

rao63k51 03-20-2013 10:07 AM

I see that Tigerdirect is charging sales tax which says "TX sales tax+ $4.54"; which takes the total to: Total:$59.53.

Another ebay seller "netdirectsales" has it for "Total:$57.99".
Any idea on how this seller is? I don't see any resellerratings for this seller.

chener 03-20-2013 10:22 AM

Why spend so much money on a remote when you can spend less than $25 for a URC WR7 that works very well and doesn't need to be charged all the time? Maybe that's why Logitech is getting out of this business.

I used that old URC WR7 but it is limited in how many "learned" commands you can use. I found myself having to go without some commands just to get others to work. Since I switched to the 650 life has been good with remotes! here's a quick review/guide of that model, and the 700 is very similar. http://thecreativealternative.com...50-remote/

arkavat 03-20-2013 02:02 PM

Thanks! My meritline order for 650 got backordered! Jumped to this one! Has one more device capability and 2 NiMH batteries makes up for the $15 extra.

burticus 03-20-2013 02:59 PM

Tempting. My 550 has been used so much half the buttons don't have readable letters/numbers any more... but the things still works great. I've had several universal remotes which caused much grief for me (from my wife), and the Harmony was the first one we could all get along with. I seriously hope Logitech doesn't dump the division.

They could scale the series back to 2 remotes maybe, high end and mid end. For the low end, the other universals like the URC stuff seems to appease the $20 crowd.

crxtech 03-20-2013 03:13 PM

in for one. thanks

smileyspeople 03-21-2013 04:27 AM

Thanks OP - something to replace my messed up 720 and 880.

Poking around, I saw that there is a possibility that this thing will actually do 8 devices if you program it with myharmony rather than the software, but that myharmony doesn't allow you to do as much tweaking as the software. Does anyone have the lowdown on this?

RickyJ 03-22-2013 01:51 PM

Bought one to replace the 4 remotes sitting on my coffee table, haha. Thanks/repped.

I had resetting issues with 2 650's.my 700's have been problem free. Get one while you can.

Wonder why it is not on FP yet. Good price for a good device.

jabajet 03-22-2013 04:38 PM

Trying to choose between this refurb or a new 650 at Radio Shack for ~$50 (after $10 coupon)...

Got mine today, this thing is slick. Brand new, perfect condition. I'm debating on ordering another. Backlit keys are great. I have the harmony one as well. I'm just stocking up in case the whole line gets discontinued. They're great remotes.

mobius8 03-27-2013 08:24 PM

Got one to replace a Harmony ONE that went thought the washer.
Thanks OP.

dsDoan 03-30-2013 07:26 PM

Better than Amazon's price [amazon.com].

I sent in the rebate and I just got an email that it was approved!
Thank you very much!!!!!

And, I was able to sell my charger for my broken Harmony ONE on EBAY for $15
So I'm getting this remote for about $30 after all that is factored in.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I figured it would work... I just didn't want to guarantee it since I haven't bought anything from TigerDirect via eBay in a while.

You can't beat $30 for a Harmony 700 after all things considered. That's a pretty good deal. :)

taar44 04-22-2013 06:50 PM

Thanks OP! Got my remote AND my $10 rebate!
