It is 749 where is the deal?

Mystery123 03-20-2013 08:13 AM

If it's $580, why is this not FP deal?
Is ebay not authorized dealer?

I see price as $749?

PiratePenguin 03-20-2013 08:14 AM

jcrash 03-20-2013 08:14 AM

749 to me, as well

It was at a lower price for the first few items sold (checked it personally). It is a very dishonest practice, imho, or they made a mistake.

vmehta2 03-20-2013 08:15 AM

I saw it $579 and then refreshed and it went to $749. Looks like a price mistake corrected.

samsen 03-20-2013 08:17 AM

That would be a total steal with STM lens at this price if real.
If any one got it, that must be a price mistake.
Lowest price with ordinary kit lens was $599 from bad ebay non authorized dealers. Buydig is reputable and reliable, authorized dealer.

jcrash 03-20-2013 08:17 AM

i see two people that bought 5, so I bet the price was real and corrected...wonder if they get theirs.

BallCity 03-20-2013 08:19 AM

I am seeing that price right now. Just placed an order. We will see! $579.99.

TerenceP 03-20-2013 08:19 AM

I just got it for $580 a min ago

surprisewitness 03-20-2013 08:19 AM

I see it as:

Canon EOS Rebel T4i 18MP SLR Camera 18-135mm IS STM Lens Kit
Price: US $579.99

This has to be a mistake, must be the 18-55 IS kit. I picked it up a few weeks ago when buydig had it for 799

RBAustin 03-20-2013 08:20 AM

My order got submitted for 1.
Is it a good and authorized seller with full canon warranty?

pc1654 03-20-2013 08:20 AM

Price changed during checkout, so it was corrected by seller.

Buydig is an authorized Canon dealer and fairly reputable. However, not sure if they will honor price mistake.

EDIT: nevermind, price came back down. Total came to $620.59 (7% tax) plus $11.60 in eBay Bucks. How did some people get more?

Me too! The "t4i" alert really came in handy. Was seeing too much "18-55mm" up until this point though! Part of me thinks this isn't going to actually ship though - we'll see!

Exactly.
I just bought one a couple weeks ago, and at this price I tried to buy it again.
Got all the way to checkout and the boss came in my office .... minimized screen .... waited ...and waited, brought screen back up and confirmed purchase and got the denial page.
I could have made more money on this that I made today at work.

liveaslion 03-20-2013 08:31 AM

Just scored one too... I hope it was not price mistake... Lets wait...

In 12 hours, got two great deals, one on this T4i, and one on Sigma 18-250 OS HSM...

Nine.7.Three 03-20-2013 08:33 AM

what are the odds this will be cancelled if it is a price mistake? How often does that happen on eBay?

jcrash 03-20-2013 08:33 AM

relisted at $999, heh.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....0893798044

Hopefully they ship ours, but that's a helluva a hit, 111x$400 = $44k+

bencollinz 03-20-2013 08:33 AM

If it's not canceled and ships, how will we know it's the stm lens? Easily?

Its better to link your ebay and paypal accounts so next time you can checkout from ebay itself instead of having to login to paypal and waste time in situations like this ;)

natedj 03-20-2013 08:36 AM

Yep, The STM looks different that the regular 18-135, and the documentation should spell it out too.

The lens states STM on it. That'd be the easiest way to tell. Well, I guess the box stating STM would be the easiest way.

Last time this happened to me, the ability to post feedback for a canceled item did go away because the item number became "no longer valid" four days later. So we'll see.

Anyone thinking about leaving neg feedback is an idiot. This was clearly an honest mistake by a reputable dealer. Boo-hoo didn't get a gadget below dealer cost. Grow up. They didn't bait and switch you. They didn't intentionally mislead. It was a mistake. Period.

Buydig handled it perfectly well IMHO and I happen to agree with the person who left pos feedback.

belltifr 03-20-2013 10:06 AM

well if anyone is ordering it from amazon, add the 55-250 lens (and get the 16gb extreme plus the cap grabber for free if you add them also). get 150$ off the lens so its less than 880 for the t4i and the two lenses. just ordered it myself and its arriving tomorrow. :)

Well when they relist the same item for the same price and sell another 10 and then cancel them all, I would def leave negative feedback for their stupidity and won't look like an idiot...

While I would agree that negative feed back is not really warranted, other companies have handled price mistakes far better by simply honoring them.
