Bought 2. Thanks op.

dk20005 03-22-2013 09:51 AM

Thank you was waiting for this deal.

mig0 03-22-2013 09:58 AM

Limit 1 per order but picked one up. Thanks. Probably gonna use this with my ipad, not my mac mini.

rkingj 03-22-2013 10:15 AM

great deal, ordered wireless keyboard last time for 30$, in for 1 again! Thanks!

game4life 03-22-2013 10:24 AM

Been waiting around looking for another HP BT keyboard deal to come back around but this will have to do!

Hopefully this refurb isn't horrible condition if it fails I guess I can just return it. In for 1

Best Buy Refurb - Wireless Keyboard for Select Mac Computers for $29.99 or Keyboard With Numeric Keypad for $21.99 w/FS

Wireless Keyboard for Select Mac Computers for $29.99 [bestbuy.com]
This one also work on ipad or iphone too and possible with apple tv 2 or 3 with latest 5.2 firmware

Keyboard With Numeric Keypad for $21.99 (corded USB) [bestbuy.com]

This will be very good deal for whom recently just bought Mac Mini at best buy...

Dubrxsti 03-22-2013 11:15 AM

Make that 3, haha.

icon5585 03-22-2013 11:24 AM

I don't like the "no warranty implied" part...

ufo1922 03-22-2013 11:25 AM

does this work with ipad?

mrhoque 03-22-2013 11:28 AM

will it work with windows computer?

Dubrxsti 03-22-2013 11:29 AM

Yeah, I felt the same way but with Silver Premier I still have a 60 day return period. If you are not Silver then I would just stress that Best Buy's new return period is only for 14 days so that should be a deciding factor when purchasing.

Works with Ipad and Windows.

The wireless one does work over bluetooth. The wired one does not and will give you the 'too much power' error.

bboothe 03-22-2013 11:33 AM

great deal- i have been looking for this deal to come around again. thx op- repped.

elgringoguapo 03-22-2013 11:36 AM

If you can try and get the wireless version that uses 2x AA batteries rather than the 3x AA. It last longer (surprisingly) and can work with the Mobee rechargers, the 3X AA keyboards don't work with Mobee recharger.

BWheel 03-22-2013 11:49 AM

Sold Out Online!

Kurtois 03-22-2013 11:50 AM

Am I missing something? Sold Out online it says.

Edit: The wireless version, that is.

It's the MC184LL/B [apple.com] so it uses 2x AA.

Zephon13 03-22-2013 11:57 AM

lol I've heard terrible things about the durability of these Apple keyboards. A tiny drop of whatever falls into a crack somewhere and half the keyboard dies. Some better quality mechanical keyboards, on the other hand, can be thrown down the stairs and still type like nothing happened.

I used to wear contacts, and always put them in at my desk, so tiny droplets of contact solution have fallen into my keyboards plenty of times, none of which have ever caused any issues with them.

Kurtois 03-22-2013 11:57 AM

I have been looking a long time for the 2x AA. Says sold out online. Throw me a bone.

Can you use this and hook up to any phone with the wireless bluetooth version? I have a motorola keyboard that connects to my phone and it works great. Id like to buy one of these if that is true. Thanks.

Luckily, anecdotal reports have nothing to do with actual reliability.

I've never had a technical issue with any Mac keyboard. And I've used nearly every model.

Had it in my cart. Logged in. Hit confirm then announced "Due to high demand......OOS." Sure enough, hit refresh on page and OOS. D'oh!

thenewguy07 03-22-2013 12:10 PM

Gah! Wireless sold out! I've been waiting for a deal on this for months. I'll keep tabs on the thread for any potential updates.

I have my deal alerts set up for everything but Apple products. I'll consider this my wake-up call.

Kudagra 03-22-2013 12:12 PM

Thanks! I hit up the last deal when they had the wireless ones for the same price, but I prefer the wired so I'm going to pick up one of those. And thanks for putting the full link! Those stupid redirect links never work on my office computer

macpablo 03-22-2013 12:14 PM

Thanks! now i need a trackpad !

chele162 03-22-2013 12:18 PM

Thank you! I've never bought refurb from BB before so I'm crossing my fingers! I needed a new keyboard for my iMac, mine was looking kind of sad. I prefer the wired anyway because I hate changing the batteries all the time. Plus, I had some reward zone certificates to use! Thanks for the heads up!

akwizeguy 03-22-2013 12:18 PM

I got in on the last deal. Came in a black box, but from what I could tell it was unused and brand new. Hope this helps

I'm just going by reviews I've read about it. Quite a few people seem to have problems where entire sections of the keyboard just die out, never to be functional again.

Now I'm no keyboard engineer, but I've never in my life had a keyboard just flat out die on me. Especially within the first 2 years of owning it.

lpranal 03-22-2013 12:29 PM

Just a note, these aren't spill resistant at ALL. Normally I'm very careful, but I got water in mine once and it was done for.

DarkAmeba 03-22-2013 12:30 PM

Man OOS as I was checking out.

This is what I was talking about in my comment earlier.

You're not the only one though, a bunch of peoples' just flat out died without even having any spills.

Personally, with keyboards that are well over 10 years old that still work, I consider that completely unacceptable.

Greatdealgina 03-22-2013 01:10 PM

I go with wired. 2 reasons. 1. my brains have enough problems working as is.
2. Much more reliable.

But hey, that's IMHO

OMGthatsCraZY 03-22-2013 01:17 PM

Damn I wouldve loved to get one of these, missed it by a few hours.

A brain isn't required after you've initially paired the keyboard. All you have to do is keep the thing charged, which isn't all that difficult.

A few hours is a lifetime when it comes to these BB refurb keyboard deals. I've missed out several times, by a matter of a few minutes or seconds.

revaaron 03-22-2013 08:54 PM

if this were backlit.. would have

chele162 03-27-2013 04:53 PM

I know that the keyboard is OOS now but just wanted to update, I got my new wired keyboard today. It's in perfect condition and looks brand new! It came
wrapped nicely in a plain white box. From this experience, I would try to be refurb from Best Buy again, if the price was right!

game4life 03-28-2013 11:28 AM

Got my wireless keyboard in the mail today although tracking said it would be here on Mon the 1st.

It came in a white box with invoice attached on front and Grade B labeled on it so I guess refurbed grade B. inside only the keyboard plastic wrapped on to a propped cardboard thing. And a piece of paper Thanking for the purchase and whatever item you bought. And it said if I needed a manual for it to go to apple's website with the listed address and do the PDF file for it.

Keyboard looks great no scratches or anything. Connects well with my note 1 phone and iPad. The rubbery tips on the bottom are a bit worn but I was set on looking for flaws since it was listed grade B and I was wondering why not A lol.
To put the batteries in, I used a quarter to open the end with - sign and it takes 2 batteries. There's a tiny green light that comes on in the upper right hand corner that goes away after active which is pretty cool.

Not bad for a slim BT wireless keyboard. I have the HP Touchpad BT keyboard and was waiting on another deal to come back so I can have a spare one to carry around and leave one at home. But this Apple one is pretty nice and works well like the TP one.

But if it didn't have the condition grade listed i would have assumed perfect like new condition.

Not bad since this is my first BB refurb - will probably try them out again in the future.

The one I received is listed as Refurbished Grade A. But there are still wear on the rubber feet and some fine scratches on the white plastic back cover. It functions perfectly though. I'm wondering what's the warranty for this BBY refurbished keyboard.

Dubrxsti 03-28-2013 01:36 PM

All three of mine were grade A. Two still had the original apple plastic on them, the other one did not but showed no signs of use what so ever. Very Very Pleased!

mig0 03-28-2013 01:53 PM

I did shit to store and got an email today with a is taking longer than expected to arrive in the store. message.

Dragonfly47 03-29-2013 03:24 AM

Grade B Keyboard looks great, works great. Minor issue that the original owner named it "mac's keyboard" and despite extensive googling, I haven't found a way to change the name, either on my Mac or on Win 7.
Guess I'll have to live with it. Annoying.

Mine was named Mac's keyboard too LOL Maybe that's the standard for all?

Found how to rename it in the manual 09 wireless keyboard. You gotta be on a Mac.
Apple>>Sys Prefer> BT and click on Action pop up and choose rename.

I've missed this but there is one in cowboom for $5+sh more if someone wants to purchase from them (I think its same bestbuy)
So there is no problem for using it in windows, right? You can map control key to windows key I suppose.
I have apple touchpad and this will go nice with it. Want to use it on Win 7 and 8 and hackintosh
Please bump this deal if you'll notice its coming back. I see that even skus were deleted from site.
Thanks

The only Mac I have dual boots Win7 and I hadn't been in OS-X for about a year. After I updated Snow Leopard, the "rename" tab came up and I was able to change the name.

I'm guessing "mac" is the Geek Squader whose job it is to check returned keyboards.
