Magic Lighting LED Light Bulb and Remote with 16 Different Colors and 5 Modes $5.65 + FS *Amazon 3rd-Party Seller*

Amazon has the Magic Lighting LED Light Bulb and Remote with 16 Different Colors and 5 Modes. The lowest available price is currently (as of 4/26/13) $5.65 + free shipping (sold by third-party seller). Be sure to look at the sellers on the right side of the page for the best prices. Most of these sellers ship from China, so it takes a little longer for shipping, but it is worth the wait! :)

I bought one of these when it was over $6 a few weeks ago. I love it. The remote works well and allows you to control all of the different colors and color-changing modes. The bulb fits in a standard light bulb socket.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083DNOBI

This exact bulb and remote is listed under several different brand names on Amazon, but this is the cheapest one I can find.

HAVE FUN!

xxxHolic 03-23-2013 09:27 PM

These LED lights are made in China by Chinese vendors. Quality is questionable

Wow 140 lumens, a typical 60W bulb is 800 lumen this is a night light. Anyone actually have this, is it really that dim?

AustinRocks 03-24-2013 01:18 AM

If you buy more than one you get more than one remote? Can one remote control all of them? Is it better to buy one here with remote and just get bulbs separate on ebay without the remote?

I think you do. Made in China products of an American company like Apple (highly rated in terms of quality/warranty/guaranty) are not to be mistaken with Made in China products of an unknown Chinese company. So, next time, remember the phrase "Designed in California" vs "Designed in China" ((( or "Proudly Designed in California" vs "Shamelessly Copied in China":lol::lol: )))

Apples and oranges....pun intended. Huge International company with warranty support and quality control (Apple) vs. spec it out to the lowest Chinese manufacturer with no quality control and no warranty support (magic lighting). And count me in as one of the people that believe that most of the stuff currently manufactured in China is pure garbage.

bigjonnee 03-24-2013 03:31 AM

These are so cool. I got one for my night side. You can use it white to read right a book, have red sexy time, disco party or a pleasant nightlight. It makes me feel like a little kid just to lay and watch it change colors.

Cheap chinese knockoff of LIFX...Quality is less than questionable. LIFX Also connects to your network, and you control it all through a smartphone...every bulb in the house links together with an ad-hoc network.....too bad it's so expensive in comparison!

Why even bring up such a dissimilarly priced product?

I doubt the magic of our $5 lights will fail before we get bored of em, or before we can get one twice as bright for the same price.

If you're going to blow good money on color-changing remote control lighting, you are much better off spending $5.65 on this than spending hundreds on you non-crappy non-Chinese solution.

If this is the formula then I think GM and Ford also made in China

ciswt 03-24-2013 07:05 AM

This could make for some fun outdoor accent lighting. Put them inside some stone garden lanterns or something.

just wondering if I could buy 2 or more and control them all through 1 remote. Looking to setup for home theater use.

I purchased these last year for about $10 each from Amazon (fast shipping from a US merchant). I was DJing an event and the client wanted specific colors around the ball room, and these were perfect for that purpose. Don't expect these to light up a room...they are pretty dim, but great for mood lighting.

One remote worked for all my lights...but they have a short range.

Excellent price for these. I think meritline and focal price sells these too.

They are more for mood lighting, not spot lighting. Although I was presently surprised at the brightness for what I was using it for. I have a floor-to-ceiling frosted window at the front of the house and I use the light near the floor to light up the window in different colors depending on my mood. It looks nice from outside... neighbor complimented it.

I have these for "mood" light above a fireplace. Had them for 6 months, work great and look cool. I control 2 bulbs with 1 remote-both of mine came with remote so I have an extra. Worth the $$ in my opinion.

Dont expect to read by the light they produce and I agree that remote doesnt work unless close to bulbs-not an issue for me at the price.

In for two, thanks!

Going to put them in the bedroom cans and not tell the wife until she gets an O, at which point I'm thinking some kind of strobe or party mode.

Hope I can wait that long to show them off. Could take months.

For a bit over a dollar you get 5 watt led light bulbs. They should be slightly brighter. I've had these since 2009 and have had no problems with them

Not clear what the deal is here...
the link comes up with $7.30 bulbs...

Sellers seem a little shady...either very low feedback or very low number of feedback.

CameronEp 03-25-2013 01:49 AM

For those curious, here is a video showing two in action [youtube.com]

kevinca 03-25-2013 07:45 AM

I bought one of these when they came down to $5 last month. Its very dim, but works as billed. The only thing I found that didnt work on it was the Stobe effect. It just displays a solid color when on strobe. Again, if you want dazzling color, buy the Philips kit with the iphone app at 40x the price. This bulb is a fun toy. Buy it if you are a light fanatic.

Bummer about Strobe mode not working on yours. Works fine on mine. You probably didn't even bother to send it back at that price, right?

===

If anyone is interested, here is what the modes do:

FLASH changes colors every half second or so.
STROBE changes colors every 2-3 seconds.
FADE gently changes colors fading from one to the other without going dark in between.
SMOOTH is the same as fade but happens a little more quickly.

Or you can just select one of the colors to stay always on instead.

Glacier101 03-25-2013 03:06 PM

Edit: Looks like the lowest price is now $5.74.

Bummer. I'm sure Amazon or the seller can send you another one... they are cheap enough where I don't think they would put up any fuss. Or just get a refund if you prefer. But mine is still working fine and is fun FuN FUN! lol
