Damn you, Deal Alerts.

I hate cans. So uncomfortable.

justinre 03-25-2013 12:33 AM

I love my 685's, but the Adidas 680s are highly rated on The Wirecutter and for only $38! Is there a code for this one? http://vminnovations.com/Product_7755/Sennheiser-Adidas-Sports-Earbud-Headphone-with-Volume-Control-and-Neckband-PMX-680.html

I grabbed a pair of the HD428s last time this deal came around a few months ago, still loving them.

Super comfortable, and good sound(at least to me). I'm still uneasy about how thin the cord is, but has survived at least a dozen accidental tugs sofar. :)

xxxHolic 03-25-2013 03:40 AM

680 for $20? In for 2 to SLI.

Depends on the firmness. I switched over to softer cans recently and I find them much more cuddly.

rakoom2002 03-25-2013 05:04 AM

Isnt working anymore, Just tried with the HD428 and it said The coupon code specified could not be applied.

furby 03-25-2013 05:23 AM

I just tried to order the 428's with the code HDSQ1 and now the code is invalid so I won't be able to order them. Thanks anyway.

puddnhead 03-25-2013 06:05 AM

was this already dead b4 it hit fp?

Wish I'd seen it when it was posted 18 hours ago.

Yup depends on which cans. I have denon d2000 and they are like boobies resting on my ears :-)

CountDooku23 03-25-2013 06:52 AM

Does the cable detach from HD 428?

I thought about grabbing one long ago until I see all those mixed review on Amazon. My $20 Creative earbuds is still working fine for me after 4-5 years.

Thank you much. I could not find anywhere on newegg if it was or not. That is a big thing for me..... I am a habitual line stepper. Love all Sennheisers products though. Been sold since day one.

prankies 03-25-2013 09:54 AM

The 428s are quite nice for the price, though they get even more slick when the refurbs go for around $23.

They are a great budget headset. I use mine when I'm playing games or listening to podcasts on my phone in bed--fiance can't hear a thing.

The 428s feel somewhat cheap in their construction (thin cord, cheap plastic), but that is kind of to be expected for $30.

When looking at it strictly from a music/movie closed-back audio perspective, these are some of the best in the price range. They are even passable for gaming, but not great.

Thrice 03-25-2013 10:22 AM

428s are great budget cans. While the cord is thin it is sturdier in it's connection that my previous 2 pairs of Creative Aurvana Live. For $30 they are definitely worth picking up.

Moordie 03-25-2013 10:33 AM

I have the 680s and, for what it's worth, I hate them. Just don't fit well at all. Even the smallest rubber pieces feel like they don't go in my ears very well at all.

On the plus side, even with them not fitting well the "wing" things do a good job of keeping them in the ear, even if not totally shoved in.

zoner88 03-25-2013 11:32 AM

I got some VM Audios for $9.50 ... what the hell.

None of course, I hate them!

Every one I have tried just made my ears uncomfortable after some period of time. I have some Senny PX-100 II's which are open and light and I can wear for hours without discomfort.

I think the problem is they make my ears sweat. Also most of them are too firm as you say and too tight. I think the enclosed thing is just a problem for me.

kwikside 03-25-2013 01:10 PM

Anyone know how they stack up to the HD419s?

The cord troubles a lot of people but honestly sennheiser seems to use the same cord on everything. I have the same cord on my sennheiser earbuds and the same cord on my sennheiser gaming headset both of which have had some harsh tugs in use and while traveling with no ill effects whatsoever... been using both for 3+ years now and the cord and everything else are as good as when I bought them despite using both for travel.

duuuuuuude. the d2000s are sexy forreal. I've never had the pleasure of seeing/hearing em in real life yet :(

how much u pay.. post pics! i would love to see.

WTB 03-26-2013 07:48 PM

are the $10 VM headphones comfortable and loose fitting? I don't mind if they are low quality so long as they fit my huge head.

I have sennheiser HD428 and they are not too tight.

Rocko99 03-28-2013 07:58 AM

Also, I have posted this before but worth mentioning. If the bass is lacking to you-the bass mod makes a HUGE difference. You simply remove the pad, unscrew the 4 screws holding the baffle on-under the felt/foam, then on the back of the driver enclosure you will see 3 holes covered in a black cloth tape. Remove one hole to increase the bass quite a bit, remove 2 holes to really increase it and remove 3 to blow your brains out. Each hole uncovered increases but changes the bass tonality somewhat so experiment to see what fits your taste. For me one hole was perfect.

just bought these after i missed the last round

reviews say these are excellent for a price of $55 besides that the cord is bad.

I will be using them for my desktop headphones so the cord integrity is not a concern.

bought and repped! Thanks!

Thank you for not calling them cans.

smacky00 03-30-2013 01:45 PM

I got these back in November of last year from the same site and for a few bucks more. I haven't really listened to them on the go, like on my phone or iPod, but I have watched 100s of ours of Netflix and videos and can say they are very comfortable to wear and I think they do a solid job when listening to them for a while on the computer.

I use these in conjunction with a program called Hear (OSX) and watching movies or listening to music on my MacBook has been amazing during that time.

I think at 30-something bucks, they are a great deal.

DjReDDiMiX 03-30-2013 03:01 PM

Anyone else get charged sales tax? Im in PA

recountryman 03-30-2013 03:01 PM

I'm in for the HD428 as my PLANTRONICS Audio 630M just tore the cable.

Jasiono 03-30-2013 03:04 PM

No coupon code needed.

THE CABLE sucks on these so be careful but other then that and the bass they are awesome for this price.

great deal, in for one.

papatoony 03-30-2013 05:24 PM

Cord is shit on these things...I don't recommend. Mine lasted only a few months before the sound stopped working in one of the sides.

How did you use these headphones? Did you use them at home at a desk or did you take them around with you?

Nope...just used them with my laptop. Never left my bedroom. I doubt I even got 20 hours out of them, total. No reason they should have shorted out...but they did.

Rocko99 03-30-2013 09:10 PM

Cord is thin but has lasted a while. Don't abuse it and you will be fine.

treezy 03-30-2013 11:50 PM

gives me message

oh well maybe next time ,
Thank Op

Solari 03-31-2013 03:02 PM

I bought these in August of last year. I use them daily for up to 8-10 hrs a day (music while working and gaming). I loooove them. They're super comfortable, and I swear the sound just keeps getting better. The cord is fine (if a bit short) and is showing no signs of wear. I'm not sure what people are doing to them.... or maybe I'm lucky. One of the best $40 (at the time) purchases I've ever made. They tend to go on sale pretty often, so check back if you missed it this time.

Edit: Mine were actually the refurbished ones: http://www.vminnovations.com/Prod...shed-.html

al3xman 03-31-2013 08:40 PM

Ordered one. Thanks OP! I've been looking for a pair of comfortable over-eat headphones for some time now. I've tried my brother's Beats Solo HD's, but they get pretty uncomfortable for me after a while. Hopefully these will be the ones!
