Great TC, thank you for getting the song stuck in my head again.

Great TC, thank you for getting the song stuck in my head again.

My son sings this at the top of his lungs on a daily basis. We got the deal the first time it popped up here, and he just loves the magazine. Be ready for your kids to want new trains, they love to feature those.

bachak 04-05-2013 08:03 AM

Done with Thomas for my kid who will turn 5 in few months.
He played (Thomas, Percy, Gordon, James) & watched it a lot.
I hid the tracks now :(

But thinking again whether I should get this magazine.

id4rox 04-05-2013 09:15 AM

Tempting. If only I had a child....

slmrm 04-05-2013 09:27 AM

I am guessing this book is not worth for 6-year old boy. Any suggestions... Thanks!

Kurisu2019 04-05-2013 09:48 AM

Good find and repped.

My 3 year old knows the tune but doesn't sing the song yet.

Unfortunately trying to teach him his 1, 2, 3s....

he has been constantly saying 1 , 2, 4, 6 for the past 6 months.....

probably because of this song.

btlist 04-05-2013 10:14 AM

Since it's only published 6 times a year, it will take longer to get to you in the mail than a mag that is published 12 times a year. You might want to see if you're account is showing up at the publishers website (link below). If not, you might want to contact cs at the publishers website and see if you're order is current. If the publisher isn't showing anything for you, contact CS where you purchased it from (although some places will only look at your order when it's been 14 weeks or more since you ordered).

Just wondering why you hid the tracks? My son will be 5 in June and has loved Thomas and friends since he was about 18 months. I love watching him use his imagination and build amazing tracks. He recently started getting an allowance and saves his quarters to buy his own trains. I also potty trained him by bribing him with trains lol It has been a very positive thing in his life and I cant see taking it away from him.

He was spending lot of time in Thomas/Trains. Also now it's summer time so he will spend time in outdoor activities also & gradual reading/writing/painting. So there are lots of activities. Also it's not taken away permanently, he will remind us in few weeks - just that don't want him to spend majority of time with trains when he is in his room.

I got this for my nephew last time it came around... He's only 2 so he couldn't do a lot of the stuff in it but he sure loved the stuff he could! I got a 2 year subscription so he should be able to do more as he gets older.

Tazmania99 04-05-2013 02:15 PM

Toys of Thomas & Friends are way too expensive. It will be a disaster to me if my kids fall in love to Thomas & Friends. I've subscribed two years for them anyway. Thanks.

Use "SLICKDEALS" with the Thomas the Train subscription and you should still be able to get the discounted price!

This vendor takes forever to start sending you a magazine.

I ordered 3 months back, and have yet to receive the first issue!

It's really more the publisher...not the vendor. Magazines that come out 12 times a year take anywhere from 8-12 weeks to start - seems strange but that's the industry standard. So since this magazine is published less than that, it takes even longer.

You can check to see if you have an active account with the publisher here:

I had this subscription for my son for the past 4 years, unfortunately his 6 years old now and kinda old for it.
The $30 subscription at the time was worth every penny, he would get so excited everytime it arrive on the mail flip through every page for hours over and over on a daily basis.

He would talk about every single train, character and city non stop.
He develop his first reading skills because of this magazine.

I strongly recommend buying this for your son or daughter.

Just to give you a heads up this is a hobby that can get kinda of pricey
Each train is an average of $10 dollars and some up to $25 specially the older "wooden ones"

Tracks can be like $200 per set stations are about $50 each and characters such as "Cranky" can easily be like $35.

I hope this would help someone out there to make a decision on weather to buy or not buy this subscription.
Enjoy
JL.

Great TC, thank you for getting the song stuck in my head again.

Down the hills and round the bends, Thomas and his Friends!

Ordered last time and still waiting for the first subscription -- that was about three months ago.

Not very impressed by Thomas & Friends

published 6 times a year and looks like something from the dollar store - even at this price (I paid slightly lower on EBAY) its overpriced.

This must be a case-by-case thing. I ordered the Thomas magazine for my son a few months ago, and he had the first issue in under a month (I was surprised by how fast it came).
