Great deals. For anyone who has never owned Carhartt jackets, these are just about the most durable jackets money can buy. You can take these to hell and back without so much as a loose thread showing. Incredible quality.

Also, not sure if this is true for 100% of their jackets (probably not?) but the couple i own are all labeled as made in the USA by a unionized work force if that's something that's meaningful to you.

Drunkenpunk 04-09-2013 10:20 AM

Thanks, I managed to score a large at 9:04 a.m. However, my order confirmation email said that it is on backorder. Hopefully it works out...

Makes me not want to buy it. Thanks for pointing that out. Unions are ruining our workforce. Thankfully, they're memberships are on the decline.

Scarletbegonias 04-09-2013 10:30 AM

Thank you! I was able to pick one up for my dad :)

Well that's just like... your opinion, man. Guess you're more of a fan of made in china by 8 year old slave workers. Gotcha.

noircat 04-09-2013 10:43 AM

Was about to buy the Duck Jacket but someone beat me to the bunch, now OOS. Bought the Sueded Jacket instead. The CLUBFIVE code only works if you have a Cabela's club Visa card. No big deal since shipping is still only $6.

Then go buy one that is 1/10th the quality, and is made in a sweatshop by a
pre-schooler in a foreign land.

What's really sad is they actually gave you the right to vote.....

halloweenprince 04-09-2013 11:16 AM

wanted to get one but $5.95 shipping stopped me from checking out. never got a jacket from this brand. Is $30 worth it?

dookiemiah 04-09-2013 11:18 AM

Actually quality of products made in China is pretty decent nowadays. Even super expensive brands like arc'teryx outsource their products to China and obviously the quality is still top-notch...soo....yeah..about that...

These are built to be work jackets, so they will last a very long time. Definitely worth it for wearing in relatively cool weather.

I just got a Carhartt from Sears a week ago and it was made in Mexico....

ayg1 04-09-2013 11:39 AM

In my experience as a normally Large in every brand, I can confidently wear Carhartt's normal cut in medium. It looks like a large normally looks like on me without fitting tight or short. Not sure if the jackets fit that way but all their shirts seem to be this way.

Just a note since there is only Mediums available.

hazel_nut 04-09-2013 11:43 AM

Thanks OP. Got one for my bro.

No, what's sad is, if you were allowed, you wouldn't let them vote because his view is different than yours.

nitemare 04-09-2013 12:07 PM

fauxden 04-09-2013 12:16 PM

It's not the workers that I'm against...the unions are nothing more than arms of the Democrat party. Whether you're a Democrat of Republican, being forced into a union and forced to pay dues, those dues ALWAYS go to support Democrats. Unions are nothing more than forced fund raising for the Democrat party.

I have nothing against the workers at all. The unions served a purpose long ago when there was no Dept of Labor, OSHA and other regulatory agencies that make sure workers are treated fairly and working in a safe environment.

Think of it like this. Imagine you want to get a certain job but in order to be hired, you have to agree to give a certain amount from each paycheck to a group that supports politicians or causes you don't support. Is that not extortion?

It's not about a living wage anymore...it's about getting Democrats re-elected via extortion.

ChauNguyen100 04-09-2013 01:25 PM
