yes, of course you can
but you have to walk backwards while others are leaving the the theater
and if you can do a moon walk
to make it appear that you are coming out of theater

what's wrong with walking out the door with my popcorn?

should fix it to "going in"

I highly doubt the ticket checker and management would allow such as less than honest person could sneak away into a theater for free...

I was trying to make it seem like a better deal based on what the theater charges. If we go by what they pay, then 25 cents seems like a fair value with most of the cost coming from the price of the bag.

I am speaking from experience
I'm talking about getting in without buying a ticket.
Back in the day, man, only 1 of us had to pay for drive in theater tickets
while 2 or 3 of us rode the trunk.
To this day, when I buy a car, I bring 3 teens along to make sure
the trunk space is good.

Same, they let you into the theatre and concessions here without a ticket at one of the AMC but at 2 of them you need the ticket to get into the concession area, makes it ymmv

nitemare 04-10-2013 11:37 AM

Free popcorn for me everyday at movie theaters! Just go in the trash can and grab a popcorn container and go up to counter for free refills! yeppee!!

tukwok 04-10-2013 11:39 AM

About the debate as to the overpricing of concessions at movie theaters- imagine the long wait in the lines if concessions were reasonably priced. Never mind that the theaters would have to raise ticket prices as they claim to cover costs and profit from the concessions sales.

At our location, yes it is no problem because they collect the stubs at the theatre hallways so you can walk right in to the stand.

I have done this many times in the past as we like the popcorn and will buy it once in a while for a treat.

Sure - as long as you're not captain obvious about it. No one asks for a movie stub at the concession stand. Would be kind of strange to walk in and walk out with popcorn, but hey, go for it.

Just say you want to play the arcade games, or even simply that you want to purchase some snacks. They aren't going to make you purchase a movie ticket if you want to buy refreshments, their primary source of revenue. And I have gone into a theatre just to buy nachos, I've also done that at bowling alleys. I love that fake cheese.

Good luck with that, even a lot of fresh produce and, 60-70 % of what u find in any big box
retailer, your modem and or router, your isps equipment, your computer, etc will be /are
made it china, or else where with parts from china, Your buying stuff from made in china
whether know it or not. I support buying US made items, but even then a lot of times if
u look closer its usually assembled in the US from Chinese parts  so I gave up trying...

Print a bunch and hand to people going in if u want to hurt their bottom line...

AMC can go fark themselves.

I have used the bday coupon several times without any issues.
Only 1 time did the girl ask me if it was my bday, But the coupon doesn't say it has to be "on" your bday also the terms on the coupon doesn't even say you have to be the one redeeming the coupon either.

They may look at you suspicious if you just have these 2 coupons and no money.

Same here. A lot of times, they even tell me "Happy Birthday" when I use it, and I just give them a fake "Thanks" :evillaf:

The coupon at first had my name and member # on it, but now it just says "Valued Guest" and the Card # is blank so basically anyone can use it and abuse it. And the exp. date will infinitely refresh to 10 days from what today is. :shake:

Yeah, there used to be a couple of older links in the past that did the same thing. Someone posted the link here on SD and it was soon dead. I don't get greedy and abuse this myself and I'm not saying that you will, but once it gets posted here it would spread like a wildfire and get abused quickly and AMC would most likely kill it. I'd rather have this coupon around a little while longer, hope you understand. ;)

i wonder how much popcorn i can get after stopping by about 3 theatres on the way home from work.

Most movie theatres do not require a purchase of ticket to buy food, amc included. But sometimes new employees are not aware. Ask for a supervisor amd they will let u in.

Totally depends on the theater. If they collect tickets before you get to the concession area, then it may be difficult to do. Some theaters don't actually collect the tickets till you go to the hallways where the theaters are, so in those it should be much easier.

Planning on seeing Evil Dead tonight, then taking the kids to see something in the morning for $5 a pop. I was going to print off a few of these, but I noticed that the number on the coupon I got in the email is slightly different than the coupon being passed around here.

I'm guessing we would have heard if this were a one time use thing, but anyone think there would be a problem with bringing 3 kids (each with their own coupons) going up individually for their own popcorns since they'll all be the same code number?

Only the second kid will have the answer to that. Try it

That Amex and popcorn offers would be a good thing for you. 5 a kid? Thats high for an early showing and kid pricing?

no problem. The code is just the cashier code so they know how to enter the deal.

Print out 1000 of them and give them away.

Now I am hitting myself for not printing out 2 coupons.
1 before/during the movie.
maybe 1 for a refill during the movie as well !
1 after leaving the movie to take home!!

I see, well that's the case currently because they just took over in last few months. It will take time before they start showing their magic. And obviously, they can't just hire all Chinese folks, otherwise its too obvious to be considered as a racist issue.

Where does the money eventually end up is what matters, at least to me. I do understand that a lot of other things are made in China, but the local business or in this case, movie theater is just too much. I know a lot of folks who have taken the same decision as mine, so I will be happy to be a responsible citizen and help the country stand on its own leg as much as I can :-). Regal Entertainment Area in my area rocks.

Would you like a Chinese President to rule American People ? When Britishers ruled so many countries, they used local workers to fill their stomach. That's exactly what is happening here. (I hope you understand my intent)

Lol...it appears you are protesting too much. Based on your comment you would legitimately only be able to use this one time a year for a savings of about $4. Since you seem so bothered I will assume you felt it was ok for your abuse...just not for "rampant abuse". Lol

Bottom line, it is a good and real deal for those that qualify. Who the heck is concerned about those that don't qualify? Slickdeals is full of deals that require some level of "qualification.

Also, for those that actually can reason as opposed to react with ludicrous comments, all AMC has to do is ask for proof of B-day like many other establishments. They would not kill the perk. Which leads us back to the truth of my first paragraph. Lol

Hey I never said I didn't abuse it, but I'll only use it every once in a while. I was implying that there are many others on SD that would abuse it even more often, printing out copies for family/friends, etc. The link would get passed on and spread quickly, which would bring it to AMC's attention. They wouldn't notice it if a few people did it, but if so many others were using this coupon, there's a good chance they'll take it down. This is what I meant by "rampant abuse". And I was not saying they would kill the free b-day drink offer outright, I was saying they would kill the link with the refreshing expiration date because anyone can abuse that coupon since it has no personal info on it. Of course I know they can just start enforcing employees to check ID's more often, but they can still kill this link. And yes, they will kill it.

Exhibit A - http://slickdeals.net/f/4799978-Free-Large-Drink-from-AMC

And who's to say that you yourself haven't abused this coupon? Why would you even post the link for someone else that asks when you don't even have proof that it's their b-day either? I'm alright with abusing it, I simply wanted less attention on the link so there would be less chance of them taking it down. It's not like I was trying to turn this into some kind of a morality issue about coupon abuse. You need to chill out bro, lol.

lakerforever24 04-13-2013 10:50 AM

thanks! went to AMC to claim my free popcorn. bought a ticket, ate the popcorn in 10 minutes, and went to customer service to get a refund for my ticket. didnt have to pay any cash yay

jmgenens 04-13-2013 11:05 AM

Ok, went to see Evil Dead last night and used one coupon.

Took 2 of my sons to see The Host this morning for the cheapie $5 showing. I went to use my coupon and buy a large drink to share among us, and the cashier asked if I'd like to use the coupon to upgrade to a large for $2 more (even though the coupons specifically say not valid for upgrades). I said SURE! My sons still got theirs and refilled from my bag during the movie.

I'd printed extra coupons to grab more on my way out, but ended up just getting refills on my drink and popcorn instead, then gave my extra coupons to a woman on her way in with small children. She was THRILLED! Life was great, right up till I took the right hand turn out of the parking lot and the large drink (which doesn't fit well in the cup holder) tipped over and landed between my feet, completely emptying into my floor mat and carpeting.

Well, it was mostly a good morning.
