Baddogdaddy 04-12-2013 01:10 AM

Keeping my fingers crossed that it builds on arkham city. One of the few games ill preorder.

GBAstar 04-12-2013 01:21 AM

IIRC regardless if you order multiple versions (i.e. PS3 and Vita) you will ONLY get ONE promotional credit per account.

Is that correct? That has been my experience in the past.

BKA 04-12-2013 05:07 AM

Pre-Ordered Vita version.

brokeandfamous 04-12-2013 05:29 AM

kind of skeptical on this since rockstead is not making this game especially after making the first 2 games....ill wait until this hits the bargain bin

Also waiting to see how it turns out since a different developer is making it this time. Will check reviews and then wait for the first time it pops up on SD for a decent discount after release. ;)

Kind of crazy after both games were highly successful for them to switch developers on the 3rd....good minds think alike....:lmao:

it is rumored that rocksteady is developing a next-Gen game.

WB Games Montreal is a new studio that ported batman arkham city to Wii u. It is currently hiring a lot of positions.

Probably because they're busy on a next gen project, which begs the question, why release this game?

momomchine 04-12-2013 07:01 AM

Does anyone know anything about the Vita version? Is it the real deal? Or some lame watered down version identical to the 3DS version?

Edit: Never mind. Sigh.

A decent deal if you like amazon, but Kmart had a 30 dollar credit for the last one and also the game was 30 dollars on black friday a month after it came out so I will wait for now.

In the past, I was able to pre-order multiple copies of the same title and still qualify for the promotion per title. Perhaps, I was just lucky. However, it might have been that I ordered separately instead of one-bundled order. Hope this helps!

I'll be checking out the reviews on this too. Only wish Rocksteady was involved with this title. The good thing about this is you can still pre-order the game and Amazon won't charge you until it actually ships; win win situation :)

Do you know if the PC will be on Steam or will require it's own third-party DRM? It might be since Warner Bros. have used steam to publish their games but who knows, they might have made their own software.

cloudtyper 04-13-2013 07:21 PM

Origins is a prequel to the other Arkham games, Vita/3DS games take place right after the console Origin games

adaweawe 04-13-2013 08:16 PM

bought batman for my boyfriend he's gonna be happy <3!

lol i'm on his slickdeals account cuz i don't have time to make one (have to travel a lot as a model)

StriderH1ryu 04-13-2013 09:27 PM

1st I was like hurray Batman Arkham for Vita... sidescroller?.. aw man. gonna wait for some vids.

b534202 04-13-2013 09:35 PM

These Batman games always end up selling for $5. No rush.

Sudhakar2k 04-13-2013 09:52 PM

2 things.

1. Arkham City was just like a copy of Arkhan Asylum. Felt like I was playing the same game.

2. If you can wait, the PS3 version of the game will be $30 during black friday week. I bought the other two games for below $30 on Amazon during black friday.

michaelgnocchi 04-13-2013 10:49 PM

Isn't it kinda early for a pre-order? I mean you'll be paying money for something you won't get your hands on until October.

amazon doesn't charge you until the preorder ships, plus you can cancel anytime before then if you decide you don't want it. when you preorder early on amazon, you are guaranteed the lowest price on the preorder if it ever drops between now and when it ships, as well as any other preorder bonuses that pop up. really, there is no reason not to set your preorder now.

A deal is really confused at the moment.

maudmatland123 04-14-2013 06:01 AM

Its a good deal at free shipping.

incarnate 04-14-2013 06:22 AM

Weak. This would be a deal if the Xbox and PS3 versions was $40 + $10 credit.

juryrigger 04-14-2013 06:31 AM

Nothing about paying $40/$50/$60 for a video game can ever be considered a good deal.

lol...
please do show me a ps3/xbox game pre-order that's ever touched that price range...

while i think a 10$GC really isn't great, 40$+10$ is just plane silly for a pre-order or new release for that matter. if you don't like the prices of new games, just wait a couple months... they'll drop.

aznchris99 04-14-2013 06:48 AM

Nice!!

Jaxattaxs7 04-14-2013 07:57 AM

I agree with the logic of waiting until BF as this game should not have online play and what happens if it sucks and we waste money on this game. 1st player games drop price very fast it seems.

Lots of preorders for PC games on Greenmangaming touch that price range and better. For instance I have Dead Island Riptide preordered for $26, I preordered Hitman, Crysis 3, and Tomb Raider for $35 each. This is why I have been buying most my PC games from them for quite some time. I now have a hard time paying $50+ for any new games at this point, it has even made me wait out for price drops and deals on console games now.

PC games are very very different... It's a totally different ball game with the various places you can preorder digital media from.
We're talking about PS3/Xbos games here...

slagman5 04-14-2013 09:46 AM

I find it funny that it's $10 more to get lower resolution and worse graphics... Shouldn't it be the other way around? Oh wait, why am I complaining? I'm going to save $10 lol. :-P

But honestly, I wouldn't preorder at this price. I preordered Batman: Arkham City before for $43 from Amazon. I know this is "technically" $40 after the gift card, but still... I think it'll probably show up on Gamefly or Greenmangaming for $35 sometime soon...

Yep, I agree. Digital download is the way to go if you want to save money. I bought the new Tomb Raider for $27 a few days after release. I got Max Payne 3 for $10 about a month after release, I preordered Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition for $35, and so many other great deals on PC...

MecroU 04-14-2013 10:04 AM

He specifically referenced XBOX or PS3, We PC gamers benefit from far better options with Digitdownload.

Console games will be more expensive as long as they have to give the console bossmen a slice. PC games are cheaper because it is a hell of a lot cheaper to create games for it, as they aren't paying huge licensing fees.

Cravit8 04-14-2013 03:45 PM

Guys I would not buy this on preorder. I got burned when I preordered Arkham City and 4-5 months later the game of the year version with all $30 worth of DLC came out for one price of $35.

Briwas101 04-14-2013 07:22 PM

I really don't understand why people pre-order games.

The last time i pre-ordered was Ocarina of Time for n64.

If you preorder from one store and then a different store has a better offer then you have to cancel your original. Then if another store beats the deal that beat the original then you have to cancel THAT order and get the better deal.

And THEN you have to deal with the fact that 1 week after your order ships some store will beat THAT deal, and so on and so on.

People COULD just save themselves some time and money and just WAIT.

nahpungnome 04-15-2013 10:22 AM

So much hate on slickdeals nowadays lol. While I'd personally wait due to many good points about this game being brought up, others who buy games at launch anyway will still be getting a decent deal. New console games have always been $60 so getting a $10 isn't too bad. Rocksteady did an awesome job on the Arkham games, can't wait to see their silver age ones (on PC of course :))

Raven6009 04-15-2013 01:05 PM

$20 credit at Best Buy. Amazon can suck it.

DreamerAbe 04-15-2013 02:38 PM

It's a deal because you're getting it on release date (or soon thereafter, because of shipping), while getting it below the advertized price. If that price is not good enough for you, that's okay. But what's hard to understand about some folks liking to play a title as soon as it comes out, plus getting a good deal on top of that? Not to mention, you help the developers more this way, and you help ensure more quality Batman games will be made. (Hopefully this is of the same standard as the other two, of course.) (And if it isn't, when the reviews come around, just cancel the pre-order.)

Btw, the handheld games are made by a new team consisting of some ex-Metroid Prime devs, and they're being made in the MetroidVania style of play, so those versions might turn out even sweeter than their big brothers'.

You're right, what was I thinking. $15 a year for $20 back on every game pre-ordered plus $100 a month in gaming coupons. That is a lousy deal.

let's not over exaggerate the promo.
it's a finite list of 13 games that fit into the 20$GC promo... and 7 of those titles have already been released...
the coupons in the magazine are hardly ever a "great" deal, similar prices can be found at places like Amazon/Newegg. sure there is the occasional coupon that will stack with a sale, but that's it.
there's hardly 100$ worth of true savings in each magazine. maybe if you're daft enough to purchase games at full price from BB, then sure it's a savings. but those prices, or better, can be found elsewhere.

the last time they did the promo, preorder 5 games and get 100$GC, it didn't require the stupid gamers club unlocked garbage. requiring you to pay to be in a club to participate in their sales is a horrible company practice.

Raven6009 04-16-2013 09:11 PM

Again you're completely clueless about this promo. Games are added to the list intermittently, so there's going to be a lot more than 7 available. The coupons in the magazines are stackable with sale prices, not just MSRP. People were buying Arkham City last year for $10 when everyone else was selling it for $30-$40 on sale. I've used $15 off coupons on games that were $20-$25 (same price as Amazon/NewEgg) and wound up paying $5-$10 each. Just one of those games paid for my $15 a year membership. Plus these offers are still valid after price matching a sale price. I paid $60 for Assassins Creed 3, received a $20 RZ coupon, and PM'ed 3 weeks later for another $20 back, making it $20 after discounts. You can and will not ever buy a new release game from Amazon or NewEgg and net that kind of savings.

I could care less if you think this program is worth it or not, but the fact is there are deals offered through this that you can not get elsewhere.
