That processor only has a passmark score of 706, but if want a laptop with a big screen for surfing the net or watching movies that's a great price.

Such an underpowered cpu/apu or I would jump. At least an a4 before I consider it even worthy of "laptop" naming. 2 year old celeron dual cores put these to shame.

That makes no sense to say that here. I have bought $320 refurb 17" Dell unit with pentium dual core (sandy-bridge cpus) so yes, when there is a deal on 17's I grab them. This is not one of them.

Umm well, for $30 you can step up to a respectable A6 system from the same source: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gateway-1...3cd0a06e9c

Very much worth it imo if you're willing to deal with Acer. As mentioned above, you can find refurb dell/lenovo systems with a B960 or better in this price range. As a side note, both Dell and Lenovo offer a full 1-year warranty on their refurbs instead of the 90-day that Acer offers. Tells you something about the amount of confidence the manufacturer has in their products.

yes, the CPU is very weak, but it might have benefits for longer better life.

slower cpu will take longer time to do the same thing, unless u only watch movie, this cpu can't even handle a few tabs in chrome.

what is this???? Stop bitching about the processor.
NO HDMI KILLS IT!
(had to get that in before someone else)

It's a combination of both. Weak processor and no HDMI. It's way too expensive for the price.

Decent laptop if you just need to do some surfing and pedestrian work but honestly I wouldn't spend almost $300 for this, may be $220 to $250 at most.
