Is the problem a matter of the wire breaking or is it about frying your iPod?

Thanks

msm5 06-27-2013 09:07 AM

Several moths ago I ordered these and the lightning end was bigger than the Apple cable and it didn't click in. I ordered on the last deal which was delivered a week or so ago. These are virtually indistinguishable from the Apple cable. The lightning end is the same size and it clicks in the same. So far so good.

bigetan 06-27-2013 09:12 AM

good deal for 3. but be aware these don't last long. I have gone through 2 already. they last about 3 months before the cable ceases to charge anything. quality issue probably

It appears the wire breaking off... (which just happened on a 30pin knockoff cable from fleabay) is the issue...

Quote from review posted 8hrs ago on Amz: I been using the ones I got since last month and they have been working fine except one... I saw they offer one year warranty so I contacted them last week and got it replaced in four days.

I don't own iAnything... but I'm sure they'll come in handy...

microkelvin 06-27-2013 10:11 AM

either someone got paid to post these posts or they all ignore this important review.

Quote:

I brought these when I need additional cable in my car for charging when they sell it for 3.99 for 3 with a coupon. This is the trick they play. hike the price and make you feel good with the coupon value. With my previous iPhone chargers/cables i brought from all these Chinese suppliers for 1 dollar or less I never has issue and I jumped in for a 3 pack. Oh boy I am totally wrong.
1 st one failed in a day in my car with plastic housing at the lightning plug end came apart and inside it has disconnected from the shoulder plate. i tl ooks like they nver used shoulder iron there and just covered it with housing. Hoping I got a lime and started using the second one with very good care thinking I may have been un intentionally rough with the First one.
2nd one worked OK fora week and then it started acting crazy as it connects to and disconnects in a 1time 1 sec ratio for 30 seconds. with Bluetooth in my ears for a voice direction I can't bare this connect/disconnect noise in my ears. I immediately tried pulling the housing around it to check the conection looks OK inside but still it acts crazy and for a while I thought it will screw up my phone.

3rd one is in dustbin once I am home.

The interesting part is When i try to review the product on Amazon I can't find it there at all (I don't usually write reviews). They intelligently changed the product link to a "Maxboost Protak Air External Protective iPhone 5 Battery Case" which I never bought. And that is true for today you can see 2 people reviewed this cable under the case.

The current new listing has zero reviews like I brought first time. - it makes anyone think they will jump for the huge coupon discount and try the product.
Other Business tactics I see here is they sell you 3 and make u pay for 3 and most people won't get a chance to try and use all 3.

This is their third attempt selling with different codes for 75% discount and marketing ploy of giving 75% discount code and lure customers to sell absolute junk.

3 out of 3 won't be considered lemons, its their sub standard.

You will get this same deal every 15 days with adiffrent code from these guys

They keep chaging the product departments and sell this Junk.

I am not sure why Amazon allow this kind of stuff

louze001 06-27-2013 10:34 AM

Nice deal. Picked these up for $6 last time. All three worked good. These look identical to the oem Apple cable

Exact same experience here.

I bought the 3pack on sale.. and they look/work identical to my authentic OEM cable.

For $5 shipped, its a no-brainer to give these a try. Said I wasnt going to order anymore.. but might just order 3 more for family, friends or co-workers who always seem to borrow my charger.

gadget88 06-27-2013 10:58 AM

same experience here. i have been using these for about a month now and you can not tell them apart from OEM unless u look very very close.
Ordered 9 more. what can i say, i m an ijunky

Read the comments for the review... It's worth taking a risk, imho, for $5

I see you been leaving only negative reviews to this company even they replied your message with assistance the first time you posted your review, but you just ignored them completely and kept going with your multiple low rating reviews, trying to bring this listing down.
I got the cables from them when they first had the deal up and I never got any issues with them, maybe you have gotten some defective products, have you tried contacting them? like what they have suggested you the first time you done it?
After reading what you wrote I came to the conclusion that you maybe their competitors' associate, show me those $1 lightning cables you have got like I shown mine, let's compare these cables and see who got the best quality?

ED says:
i bought the cable with discount for $4.99... and i dont have any problems with it. I know this is not original apple cables to begin with... so it will show cable not certified by apple on ios7 but thats fine with me... for 4.99 what do you expect?
Thank you OP, jumped in for 1 set.

Krobus 06-27-2013 09:44 PM

Cable doesn't control current.
Worst case the + and - wire break and touch each other or one of the data lines.

Normally each wire is shielded though, so both would have to break out before that happened though. You're more likely to just have a useless cable before shorting two wires together.

yxkiligulu 06-27-2013 10:49 PM

dead? coupon code no longer works

NevesNET 06-28-2013 02:05 AM

... all the money you folks spend on these cheap junk fake cables every other month you could buy a REAL one and be done with it, LOL

Spend $500+ on an iDevice and be a cheapo when it comes to the charging and connection of said device, smart!
Kind of surprised Amazon is letting a third party sell this crap on their site, should not be happening.

fun2deal 06-28-2013 06:24 AM

Buyers beware........ Piece of junk looks alright.. Broke fast in 1 day to 1 week . They are changing dept. everytime so they aviod old bad reviews, and everytime lure with juicy discount. Its a trap .... I just asked for refund.

SooperSavor 06-28-2013 10:42 AM

Agreed. Three junk cables. Bought three last time and all three broke within a couple weeks. Save your money and buy one good one.

getevlcted 06-29-2013 12:54 AM

dead, coupon code expired. I'm in the market for a 3 pack too :[

si_racer 06-29-2013 07:11 PM

I never had any luck with these generic cables. All of them stop working or fell apart within a month.

andygol 06-30-2013 04:49 PM

Bought this the 2nd time around in a couple weeks. The first 3 I got 2 weeks ago are working great.

hightop32 06-30-2013 05:24 PM

MFi certified or bust.
