If it makes you feel better, I MISTAKENLY bought it at $45. I was in a rush, saw it was a good deal but didn't notice it was a mini.

I put it on Craigslist and got all of one offer for $30. I'm screwed...

Yes, but you have to wait for $10 rebate that we're not so sure it's reliable.
Good price on a great case if you guys don't care much about rebate. A thumb up, too

sixty 09-04-2013 06:05 AM

it looks just like the R4 inside.

extremewonton 09-04-2013 08:41 AM

it is a great case with a lot of cooling potential and is well built. I got it for 70 >.< I have this case and with a noctua nh-d14. but if you go with this you can't put a side case fan on it. the nice back panel for cable management is a plus

RaytheonLiszt 09-04-2013 10:20 AM

I'm thinking of building my own mini-server instead of buying a ProLiant N54L. This looks like it would be a great case for that. Anyone have any thoughts on this? TIA

I contacted Newegg last night using their Iron Egg Guarantee Form [newegg.com] and asked them to price match it and they gave me a $5 gift card (I also bought it at $45).

This case is a lot bigger than those microservers, but it is still pretty small. MicroATX is a good choice for a server/NAS type thing since the options for motherboards are a little better that mini ITX. If you really want something small, the Node 304 is another great case, but its more expensive than this one. You get a lot more flexibility when building something yourself rather than buying it prebuilt, but some could say its more of a hassle to deal with.

Thanks!! The Node 304 looks really sleek. Looks like I have more research to do...

It's a newegg rebate, processed by Velocity Fulfillment. It's very reliable, just a bit slow.

So I shouldn't fit an i7 and radeon 7970 in this case?

jmor 09-04-2013 09:41 PM

how is this considered a mATX case when it's just as big as my current case, NZXT Gamma?

last time and it is BIG and HEAVY

I saw the dimension of this one it seems smaller and still have accommdation for 6 internal drives. I just order it.

now what to do with the new R4? (no box though I tossed it away.)

Well done. Always pay "the iron price" not the gold price.

It is better for you guys to get $5 gift card without waiting and paying for stamps.

RevolutionsJohnson 09-05-2013 06:02 AM

Um, fractal?

What exactly is fractal about a rectangular computer case that probably serves its purpose but looks 15 years old?

KingWulfgar 09-05-2013 06:55 AM

This case makes me wish I had a MicroATX mobo! I guess I'll stick with my 12 year-old, giant Lian-Li for now, though.

Its actually not that small. Its both wider and deeper than my Antec 300 Mid-tower case and only 2 inches shorter. I'm looking for a case smaller than my Antec 300 that I can SLI with, but so far no luck. The Antec fits in my table shelf with no more depth to spare so I can't go any deeper (18.3").

Gazoo 09-05-2013 07:16 AM

I really want this case, but I like windows. And the window model is supposedly coming out during this month according to a CSR. Not sure if this matters to anyone.

MecroU 09-05-2013 07:47 AM

Good case, thanks.

Augus 09-05-2013 08:04 AM

hate rebate, but give in to get this case.

msdeal 09-05-2013 08:47 PM

TU for this one. Cool looking case that I hope I don't leave in the box for months lol.

If you were in SoCal, you could almost buy an entire server for $35. ($50 with ease, 1850s all day!)
