- Library. This is so old (not the deal, marketing the first book) they should be giving it away by now. But instead it's all about capitalizing on the sequel.

Or free from your local library, mine had WMA and MP3.

This is a non-DRM free download. Audible is owned by Amazon but it will still require you to make an account. Sign up deals come and go. I've seen some where you get the first month free. Right now they have a get a free book deal.

The audiobooks work with iTunes on Mac and PC or if you don't use iTunes they have their own Audible download manager for PC. They also have an app for iOS, Windows and Android.
All this might be more info than what you were looking for but I hope it helps you and anyone else browsing the deal.

I've been an audible customer before and a couple of problems i found with them is that I could often get most of the books free at the library, and with their DRM you're locked in, just like iTunes. Since I have a habit of changing computers (usually have 3-4 at a time) and hard drives frequently, it got really annoying having to seek approval to authorize a new machine/disk (again, just like the iTunes PITA), and no one else can listen/read the book unless they share your account.

There is at least one way to remove their DRM, but it's not a free, or quick, option. It's worth the investment to remove it if you're going to listen to books on different devices, want to share with family members, have multiple computers, or change computers often.

I don't think that's how business works. Just because something was released a few years ago doesn't mean it shouldn't cost money.

Do they have the whole series at this price?

wjftp 10-08-2013 02:48 PM

This is nice, but I missed out on the hobbit deal. Hope it comes back :)

Oh, I thought it was the hunger games cook book!

Thanks for posting, but I'll pass on this one....

Do they have a cook book?

:)
