Shouldn't the user base be the judge of whether it's a front page deal or not? Pretty assumptive and makes it sound like you work for the company or something.... or are just desperate for reps/thumbs up.
Neither....but this is so far less expensive then the alternatives with the same IPS panel that IF it's a good display...it really is a steal with the $100 rebate..
It's not for gamers...it's not a fast display but that's not why you buy an IPS display. If you do photography, commercial graphics or need wide viewing angles, then the IPS display is far better than the TN displays found in most consumer monitors. This monitor also does not have LED backlighting which is the "great advance" that everyone wants. Again, unless you have full LED backlighting rather than the edge LED lighting in most consumer monitors, you get better color rendition with conventional backlighting...and very few monitor suppliers tell you if they have edge or full LED backlighting (full LED is far far more expensive).
