With HP Touchpad you need an alternate power source cause through the TP's microusb, it provides no power out just power in. So for it to work you need a Y-Cable splitter to plug into the OTG cable then one end to go to a power source such as a back up battery or to the wall then the other to either your USB device or you could use a USB hub for multiple devices.
