WARNING WARNING these are NOT over-the-ear or circumaural headphones no matter how they may look (I was fooled). They are on ear. Active noise cancelling is inherently limited in this design because of the lack of passive noise cancelling (i.e. padding that surrounds the ear).
However, that being said, these work fairly well in terms of technology for price, and they remove the painful amount of droning from airplane engines even if they DO NOT entirely block the engine sound.
Bought these last time around for $10, used them on a flight, and they helped. That being said, I have already replaced them with some $17 circumaurl/around the ear active canceling headphones.
Which ones did you buy for $17?
