Picked one up the other day. I didn't think it was a hot deal as there have been other $99 3tb HDDs, but I missed out on the $109 2tb.
As for the drive, it's smaller than expected (~1/4 size of a desktop external) and the carrying case is of good quality. The speed isn't that impressive, but the WD firewire 2tb is ~$200.

You're comparing 2 different beasts. These are 2.5" HDD's which are bus powered, while the bigger 3.0TB/4.0TB drives are 3.5" in larger enclosures that require a power brick and can't be powered through the USB/FW bus. The 2.5" HDD's are always going to be more expensive.
If you just need external storage and won't be moving the HDD around, just get a brick powered drive, you can definitely find better deals on them.
