If my phone is rooted, do I have to restore before unlocking it?
No, you don't have to...it should work just fine.
Hey guys, I need your help. My T-mo GS3 is rooted and on Jellybean (I had a friend do it, I'm not a "techy" kind of guy). I am going to Turks & Caicos next week for a wedding, and forgot to call T-mo for an unlock code, which they tell me will take 14 days. I want to be able to use my GS3 in T&C on a SIM card from Islandcom Wireless, but when this method of unlocking isn't working on my phone. I'm wondering a couple of things, will this work if my phone is rooted and I'm doing something wrong, and when I receive the unlock code from T-mo/Samsung, will it work since I'm rooted? Please help.
No, you don't have to...it should work just fine...also, Tmobile is pretty good with unlock requests...you should getit within a day or two...
