For those in the know... recommend this (or it's more expensive cousins) as the cheapest/best method for VOIP?
I currently pay ITP $15.07 a month ($9.99 +. taxes) for my VOIP landline and am pretty happy - good quality - 911 (important), voicemail, blacklists, etc work well.
But if I can get the same service for a bit cheaper I wouldn't mind trying one of these things... is it worth it to make the switch?
Even though I don't have landline service it still is possible to dial 911 using the landline. That's why I bought this model. 911 is automatically routed through POTS and everything else through Google Voice. Call quality is very good.
So check your landline because you may be able to use it for 911. Sometimes the phone company will disconnect your line at the interface box on the side of your house, but it's easy to reconnect.
