I just got the revised apology email...
Earlier this week, you and other select customers received a special promotion from Best Buy that was connected to your MasterCard®. Our marketing department made a major Boo Boo and a bunch of people on that nasty SlickDeal site figured out how to take full advantage of the Boo Boo. Since we never alert the local stores as to what's going on, most of them didn't have a clue, so they muddled through trying to figure it out as the day went on. When they realized all the Amazon gift cards were swept clean from every Best Buy store in the America, we decided we had to put a stop to this nonsense. Amazon doesn't need our help in becoming more Amazonian. We sincerely apologize for the Boo Boo and any inconvenience we have caused you. We hope to serve you better in the future, but don't hold your breath.
