This was my exact dilemma. I will never bother with the active 3d glasses, nor will my wife. Kids probably would like it, but it isn't their $$. For smart apps, Roku or Apple TV is a better option. You know the software on those is going to be maintained/updated better than the Panny's.
If that doesn't sway you, the actual screen area of a 60" is 20% more than that of a 55"
Seriously debating this or the P55UT50 that will be at costco
starting on 1/31 for $749. That one will be about $20 more after taxes, and ease of mind of dealing with costco, but I would really rather have the 5 extra inches than the smart TV/3D which I'll probably never use.

I would rather wait for Costco, just yesterday I saw the new Costco sales book and found this deal on first page.
$20 more but comes with Costco customer service and extended service plan from Costco, cant beat.
Beside that Costco TV isn't smart TV I guess.
