My answer is - Absolutely, as I found on my recent trip to the National parks in OR and WA. You need common sense to navigate around. Modern phones don't work and GPS aren't accurate. Printed maps at least let you know where you might be headed.
But I have personally tried splitting audio to Optical on my receiver that supports HDMI and found Optical produced much better audio quality than using HDMI alone. So wanted opinions from other folks.
