I have an amd phenom II x4 965 Black edition. It looks like the only difference is the cores (4 compared to 6), and the level2 cache. A little over a year ago i bought my cpu for $87, so the price is very good. Very tempted to buy this, but i dont know if i would really see that much of a performance increase, or if i even need it i just use my PC for work, run VM's
for VMs the extra cores help, the tradeoff is the multiplier is locked on the 1055T vs the 965.
so you may have 6 slower cores vs your current setup. But the Thuban's are Turbo boosted so running 3 or fewer cores it's still at least fast as a stock 965BE.
