DLP is by far the best bang for your buck - I have a 60" that I bought 2 years ago because the bulb had burned out and they didn't know how to fix it.... $45 bucks and 10 minutes later I had a awesome TV. Just buy a spare bulb and have it ready to go when/if you need to replace it.
Also I have mine stuck in a corner so you can't see how thick it is. People always complement and asked how much I spent on my LCD... And are surprised to see that its a DLP. There's just a common misconception that these don't have that good of a picture, but these ARE NOT the huge projection TV's the Joneses had back in the 90's.
I'm personally waiting for a 82" deal.
