maybe so, but personally I can't see Duracell putting there name on a battery that is "terrible." I think when it comes to well respected manufacturers they require the china folk to make it to their specifications. And don't think china folk can't make good stuff, because they surely can. I've got a shotgun under my bed that proves that
I agree. Manufacturer's dictate the quality. China or not, I doubt Rayovac would put their name/reputation at risk by selling low quality batteries out of China.
With that said, time will tell. Make sure you have a good charger that can condition the batteries while charging. I think that will lengthen experience and battery life.
