twice now i've ordered these "clearance" items on BB's website and found out later at the store (different store on each occasion) that they were open box items that were being clearanced out...the employees at both the stores told me that clearance doesn't necessarily mean new...they said that often open box items, like the macbook mentioned here, that are over one model year old will be listed as clearance items that can be ordered online...if you're able to order these, don't be surprised to find out that its an open box item..in my case both the items came without any of the accessories...
Then they lied to you and you should take it up with Best Buy corparate.
The following quote is straight from the Best Buy open box and clearence website:
Items are available in stores only. Open-box items are products that have been removed from their packaging as they may be display units or returned items. Clearance items are products that are brand new, never opened, factory-sealed products that are available at a reduced price.
