Anyone want to make a good recommendation on a good general usage lens for a canon T3i?
depending on what you like to shoot, how important IS, and fast aperture is to you, how much you are willing to sacrifice image quality for range, and what your budget is, that answer would be wildly different.
Good candidates would be 18-135 IS STM, used around 300-350, 15-85 IS, used around 500-520, sigma 17-50 OS around 500, canon 17-55 2.8 IS for around 900 used, tamron 17-50 2.8 for around 300 used, and not to overlook 18-55 IS for around 90, or the newer, optically better stm version for probably around 200.
they are all excellent options, and good bang for the buck, depending on what you value most. If you dont care about the wide end, you can throw in the 24-105 for about 750 new (part of the kit) in there, but that wold be too limiting for my style of shooting.
