No link yet. It is a brand new offering from HP and won't be public until Saturday. I stumbled on this by accident yesterday at the store. The manager could not sell it until Sunday but I am sure of the specs.

What do you think of the deal?

All I can say is that I purchased a DV7T series laptop from HP with the 40% off CB promo and it has the worst screen I have ever seen in my life. It's the 1440x900 screen and the viewing angles are so poor that even when sitting directly eye level with the screen it is totally washed out. If I go a little bit off-axis the screen results in a negative image. I was using the default settings. Unfortunately I didn't read reviews before i purchased.

This is a great deal. Make sure to check for dead pixels and get a good laptop cooler.

    this is debatable.
What kind of RAM are we talking about? What speed?
    HDD is slow...
and for not that much power almost 8lbs? That's way too heavy.
    No dedicated video...
I hope it comes with 64bit OS at least to support 4Gb of RAM.

I saw this for sale last Sunday when I was in the store. It was on display and for sale.I am looking for a 17" screen and debating on this model or the Gateway MC7801U that is on clearance for $799 a whopping $50 drop from original price.I am thinking that the Gateway will drop to $599 eventually. It has a T5800. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9053196&st=mc7801u&lp=1&type=pro duct&cp=1&id=1218012518208 [bestbuy.com] I have been eyeing the forum for the Jan 4 BB ad to see if the HP will go on sale lower than $699.Not sure why ad is not showing here yet.

It must be going on sale otherwise that guy on Ebay will be losing money after taxes and Ebay fees.
    $699 + 7% tax + Ebay + shipping+ Paypal brings it up over $800
