Added the Target one to the spreadsheet. IMO, the best deal is the Gateway LT2005u at Best Buy given the fact that it includes a 6-cell battery, though the Circuit City one is a good deal, too, as for only $70 more you get a USB DVD Drive, wireless mouse, Bluetooth and 2 year warranty added.

As for me, I ended up grabbing a barely used Asus 1000HE on ebay for $250 shipped. I chose it for the matte screeen (rare for netbooks), bluetooth, wireless-N and 10-hour battery life since I'll be using it outside a lot. Granted it's not brand new, but the trade-off in features was worth it to me.

Netbooks are smaller and much lighter than laptops. They are meant for use as a basic internet/word processing/music computer. They aren't really powerful enough to be the primary computer for most people, although if you only use your computer for basic tasks, there's no reason a netbook wouldn't be sufficient. Netbooks also have superior battery life due to the low power. They are meant to be as portable as possible, and they don't come with CD/DVD drives, thus saving space. It seems like this portability aspect of netbooks is quickly disappearing, but that's another discussion altogether.

Laptops are larger, more powerful, and are meant for use as a primary computer while still being portable. The terms laptop and notebook are interchangable...just whatever your preference. I hardly ever call it a notebook.

notebooks and laptops are the same thing.... netbooks are ultra portable laptops. They have lower stats, older operating systems, smaller screens (usually <11), but they are hopefully cheaper, lighter, smaller, and (sometimes) have longer battery life...

They are primarily for being able to carry with you anywhere so you can get on the net anytime you want (hence NETbook) and do word processing and other stuff you don't need big stats for.

Nice deal Jury Duty! I'm glad you found what you were looking for!
You might want to add the one I picked up yesterday from Amazon to your spreadsheet.

    I am curious too.

Has anyone play youtube video in HD with the screen blow up? Any frame drop?

What about playing .mkv movies in 720p or 1080p? Any frame drop?

They can run streaming videos from an external or networked drive.

I don't know about Youtube, but from my experience, those aren't very HD anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I've heard they can't play mkv files, but I can't confirm that.
