    Hello.

Why couldn't you RMA through manufacturer? Did you want a refund?

I *heart* NE. I had a 1.5 year old logitech keyboard that I had the original box and stuff for, called NE up and they sent me out an updated brand new set. I was floored.

So what's the deal with this card? Looks like it's out of stock everywhere.
AMD is having trouble making them. In fact, AMD raised the MSRP in an effort to soften demand.

Newegg has so-so to okay customer service. Their prices are good to great depending on the item and deal. I'll keep shopping at Newegg as long as the deal is right ...free shipping, good prices, etc.

I missed out on a scanner that was $20 AR and was bummed. It went out of stock almost immediately after they advertised it. I waited for it to come back in stock. I called on the last day of the deal and they said it was out of stock. The next day it came back in stock. I called and asked about it. They gave me a Newegg credit of $25. I was content, but would rather have had the scanner.

They didn't screw you. You just didn't get the deal. That happens. Call their customer service, ask to speak to a supervisor. See what happens. Then, move on to the next deal.

op you just have to call a different CSR or speak to their manager thats all... They will probably ship the card to you when its available and give you a $10 GC for inconvenience but overall NewEgg CSR is top notch. There are few bad apples in any tree no company is perfect.

lol wasabi we both posted the exact minute with the same advice.

I've had issues with them 6-7 months ago and been a customer since 2004.
I purchased a video card with a $20 MIR on it. They sent the same card but the model name on the box was slightly different than what the rebate form was calling for. Someone had added the missing P with a pen - genius, like that will make the rebate processor honor it. This time they paid for return shipping and just asked me to purchase the card again.
Few days later the new card comes in and lo and behold, plastic packaging on cardboard box is sliced exactly where the UPC is and someone added the P.
Call them again, CSR said to RMA it, and email her to refund me the shipping. Email her as she asked but didn't get anything and I left it at.
Never had problems with them before this incident.
I still buy from them but the whole thing just left a bad impression. Probably has to do with the growth of the company. Very few companies are able to maintain the level of their service when growing.

I deal with newegg so that I do not have to deal with manufacturers to be honest. My experience with manufacturers is that they take about 5 times longer to get anything done than newegg..

    Anyways,

I just grabbed a gtx 275 oc from bestbuy. It doesn't have the same potential as the 5850, but it's cheaper, and it's available now.. so I nabbed it.

In this case, not getting the deal IS getting screwed. He patiently waited for the 5850 to come back in stock, checked it often, and his time and effort invested paid off by catching it in-stock and being able to successfully place an order.

This is no different than if you got in line and waited outside for three hours for a Black Friday special, then the manager hands the product to the two people in front of you and the next ten people behind you in line and said "sorry, no more of them left".

Except this is actually worse, because there's been a week of delay involved with shipping the item back and dealing with customer service, and to top it all off they raised the price on it. So assuming he wanted a 5850 only, it's as if they gave him a refund with $30 missing.

Look, I love Newegg and I think their customer service is far better than any other company, they make very few mistakes and are usually very quick at fixing those. But that still doesn't make it OK in the rare situations like this one.

If I worked hard to support my family, donated money to charity, spent my time volunteering at charities, and was pretty much a near-perfect person... would it be OK if once every 5 years I just walked up to a stranger and punched them in the face? OK I admit it's a silly analogy but the point is that screwing people over is never acceptable, even if you're otherwise perfect.

repped for lols. man the SD population really seems to be getting dumber, it's not like this situation is that hard to understand. some people just have "newegg good, walmart bad" programmed into their brains just like you said.
It probably doesn't help when the OP tries to claim that he was "screwed" out of a $300 product, when at worst he was "screwed" out of $30 and inconvenience.

They had my money tied up. I couldn't order a new one and be fiscally responsible at the same time.
Presuming they'd started the refund process, I don't see why you didn't just order another one instead of complaining to CS. They would have canceled out on your CC within a few days.

So, as some of you know, my 5850 green screened and I had to rma it. Well, instead of sending me another one, Newegg gave me a refund. They claimed that they were out of stock, but I immediately posted a link to the in stock product while live chatting with a rep. She said she would have one sent out. She didnt. Now they are really out of stock, and I don't have a card to run my pc. On top of that, they have raised the price from 279.99-309.99 which means I have to pay more for the same product that I had already purchased from them.

So screw Newegg. I'm done with them.

I have 300.00 to spend. I need a card asap. Does anybody know of a site that has 5850's or can anybody reccomend a card that will handle the next 2-3 years of content that costs less than 300.. the better the value the bigger the sloppy smooch you get
Sounds like newegg raised the price intentionally just to screw you over. I'm sure it has nothing to do with how popular the card is.

i'd try another text chat. a different CSR may be more sympathetic. this wouldn't be unprecedented.

i think most of us are more fans of newegg than most e-tailers, but that doesn't mean they're perfect. should they be? prob not, but doesn't hurt to try to point out their mistakes (i.e. not allowing an exchange on an in-stock item).
