    Samsung 52" 120hz 1080p LCD HDTV LN52A630 - $1799 Shipped!!!
    BuyDig.com has the 52" 120hz Samsung LN52A630 for $1799 shipped. That's $500 lower than amazon's current price.

This TV is almost identical to the 650, but it has 1 less HDMI input and the contrast ratio is 40.000:1 vs 50.000:1 on the 650.

The screen is also matte instead of glossy which works great in rooms with too much ambient light.

Can you find a cheaper price elsewhere from a reputable store? Bring it.

    Actually, go to this link:

    http://www.pricespider.com/online...2A630.html

You can see historic price charts on almost every store and you'll notice this tv has never been available for a lower price than this.

Wow... this may actually be a great deal.. Props to the OP on pricespider.com - never knew a site like that existed. Helps me w/ the rest of my shopping =)

I've been waiting on the 850 for my living room because of how thin it is - but this 630 might be perfect for my bedroom.

As the OP said, the only difference is 1 less HDMI input plus the 40K contrast ratio..

I'm going to mention this post on the larger Samsung HDTV thread.

I know! actually I was just introduced to pricespider a couple of days ago by fellow slickdealer "jpanc" on this thread:

Now ameryki, as for your question on the Sharp, this is from CNET:

    ***************************************
    Sharp LC52D85U

    The good:
Accurate color after calibration; energy efficient; numerous picture controls; understated, numerous inputs including five HDMI; understated, no-nonsense styling.

    The bad:
Uneven backlight uniformity produces banding; delivers lighter blacks than some LCDs; poor off-angle viewing characteristics; lacks dejudder video processing.

    The bottom line:
The Sharp LC-46D85U's picture quality issues will give many potential buyers pause, but its dejudder-free 120Hz refresh rate might find some fans.

    __________________________________________________ _

Whereas the Samsung 650 which is the same as the 630 except for the glossy screen (which gives you a bit more of contrast but cnet criticizes below for the reflections and also comes with 1 additional HDMI input:
    __________________________________________________ __

    *************************
    Samsung LN52A650

    The good:

Superb black-level performance; highly accurate color; improved 120Hz de-judder video processing; fine standard-definition processing; broad selection of picture setup options; can display weather, news, and stock info onscreen; energy-efficient compared with most like-size LCDs.

    The bad:
Relatively expensive; red-colored frame isn't for everyone; shiny screen reflects ambient room lighting; some artifacts when de-judder modes are engaged; awkward click wheel remote.

    The bottom line:
If you don't mind its red frame, the Samsung LN52A650 LCD TV will reward you with a massive feature set and excellent picture quality.

If no one can post an active deal that beats this how is it not a good deal?

Thumbs up on the price from me.

The A650 is a top rated and reviewed LCD TV, the jury is still out on the A630 though. The matte screen should help with reflections (the A650 and A750 can be like mirrors) but does cause loss of black level and less contrast. Before deciding in the A630 is the one for you I would suggest seeking one out (can be hard to find) to compare to the A650. Of course, you should go look for yourself in any case before you buy

Excellent price for this tv. The a630 has 1 less hdmi as mentioned above and does not have the gloss finish on this television. This is the reason it has less contrast.

I agree that prices haven't come down as much as I'd like either , but you're commenting on a SAMMY thread....their line of 120hz sets are pretty much the "creme de la creme".
