Free Credit Report Summary & Free Score - Unlimited Inquiries
    http://www.creditkarma.com

This site is for the credit-obsessed like me. I just read about it again this morning on bloomberg.

My score doesn't change that much when I check it (almost everyday), but pretty nifty that I can have a pulse of my credit score whenever I feel the need.

    REPOST from last year
New product: credit report card [creditkarma.com], was recently launched.

This is not the all-important FICO score that 90% of lenders use.

Quoted: "Overall, I think as a free service, Credit Karma provides some value to its customers, even though the credit score isn’t really the one used by lenders."

Excerpt from interview with Credit Karma CEO Ken Lin

Q: Does Credit Karma calculate its own credit score? If it doesn’t, then which credit score (FICO, VantageScore) does Credit Karma use? Does Credit Karma process the score before showing it to a customer? Will a customer see different scores when he/she gets the score directly from one of the three credit reporting agencies?

A: No. Credit Karma purchases its credit scores from TransUnion, one of the three credit bureaus. This ensures that our credit score is the same model used by dozens of credit monitor sites and lenders. Our credit score is the TransUnion TransRisk score. The TransRisk score is a model developed and used by TransUnion. It is the same score used by dozens of credit monitoring sites like TrueCredit or PrivacyMatters use for their consumer credit monitoring services.
As you suggested, there are multiple scores between bureaus. We hope that one score provides a better user experience and less confusion.

    More from another review:
TransUnion does a wonderful job of confusing consumers. You should never order anything directly from TransUnion.com since they only provide you something called a TransRisk credit score, which is not the same as a FICO credit score.
TrueCredit.com - This site utilizes the TransRisk scoring system as well. While similar to the FICO, it is not the same.
PrivacyMatters.com - Yet another site that utilizes the TransUnion TransRisk credit score. Remember, if the site does not proudly advertise its scores as FICO, but merely refers to them as “credit scores”, then it’s not offering the real McCoy. If you want a genuine FICO, look elsewhere.

    from article

"The company said it doesn’t store personal sensitive information on its site such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers or account numbers. “We only do that for user validation,” Lin said. The company does compile data collected from users for research that isn’t tied to personally identifiable information, according to the company’s Web site."

It has been talked about before, the site, so I don't see what you're talking about. But when I tried to sign up awhile ago they didn't let me, or I didn't get an email I forget which. Maybe it's because I'm military, some of these things don't go thru because of that.

Thanks for the all the great feedback. We have every intention of publishing an equivalence table. Part of our beta objective was to observe how this score compares to other scoring methods.
