I don't know if there's a compiled list but I usually just google questions like that. Try it....you never know! I keep in mind that the expiry date means best before date for some things so it's still good to consume. Just not as fresh per se or the company doesn't recommend it.

I'm not sure if this is the right CVS thread for this info, so let me know if I should post it elsewhere.

I was just in CVS and found a small Jergens "booklet" (2.5" x 4.5") -- not a tearpad or hangtag-- in a Jergens display above one of the cosmetic aisles. It contains a coupon in it for $1.00 off any Jergens Moisturizer 6.7 fl oz or larger or Jergens natural glow Moisturizer 2.0 fl oz or larger [exp 8/31/10].

I've attached pics so you know what to look for.

I went to my CVS last night and noticed some clearance candy for .25 (Starburst, Whoppers, Dove, others) and Mentos gum packs on clearance for .35 each. I had coupons for .55/2 for Mentos gum and at my work we go thru gum like crazy and I'm always looking to stock up.

Only had one coupon with me so I only got two packs but the cashier wouldn't accept my coupon because they were clearanced. On my receipt I could see she didn't ring my items, she clicked "Taxable Item .70" for the two items, so makes sense why my coupons didn't go thru. In fact, all of the candy had the barcodes crossed thru. Is that standard CVS? Seems hard to track inventory that way. Could I have asked a manager to push the coupons thru or does CVS not allow coupons on mfr clearanced items? TIA!

Edit: On the other hand, with Halloween around the corner, at .25 a pop for full size candy, maybe I shouldn't worry about the coupons, haha!

I suppose YMMV. My CVS does let me use coupons on clearanced items. I get a lot of free and nearly free stuff that way, and sometimes even overage.

They recently had a bunch of Neutrogena clearanced for $1.99 each. I got ALL of it and used $3 Neutrogena coupons. I made $1.01 profit for each item!!

I got 2 Neutrashields 70 spf at $13.69 each
used 2 Nutrashied Q's, the BOGO CRT, and a 4/20
Paid 39c plus tax for 28 bucks worth of suncare.

One note though, the CRT is good for only 12.99 so after q's and the CRT you are OOP for 3.69 on the Buy 1 and the remaining 70c on the the Get 1 so a 4/20 or 4/25 works fine in this case.

According to the cashier, loss prevention had been in the store and everybody had to sign a paper that only one $ off cvs coupon per transaction should be accepted regardless of the amount of transaction. They accepted two 5 off 25 on $50 order before and I guess it got flagged somewhere. So, now no more of this thing.

Try www.stilltasty.com -- They don't list everything, but enough to get a good idea for most products (pasta, canned tuna, etc.)


On a CVS topic, I was trying to use a money card on Saturday and the card wouldn't scan. The cashier didn't know how to ring it in manually and someone else helped her out. The helper (photo supervisor) was then reamed out by the day manager who told her that they are no longer allowed to do that. I asked what happens then if they won't scan and was told I was out of luck. I told her that was insane and would call 800 number on Monday and was sure she was wrong. She told me, "They can talk to our LP then." Of course, called CS Monday and was told that they are supposed to type it in if it doesn't scan and her manager would be calling over to our district manager. They didn't confirm my info so I don't expect to hear from anyone, but I sure hope that they are allowed to manually enter the info as I have one card that was bent in my purse and will not scan for sure. Anyone else hear anything this stupid?
