These go for $79 all the time on Ebay, albeit with $12 in additional shipping. Not an insane deal, but decent I suppose if you needed this shaver anyway.

i was debating that one too, do you know what is the difference between the two? so far i don't see anything besides the style/color.

The 8228s come with the HydraClean system II, also, it is Made In Japan, far superior than the Made in China Panasonic. Also, 8228s come with a nice carrying case.

Based on my limited research, it appears that the 8228 is simply a newer model of essentially the same shaver with the 8109 being a few years older...but that's based on the dates on reviews and such. There is so little info on this at panasonic's website. The SRP is higher too, so I'm basically taking a $2 gamble. It does appear that both shavers use identical replacement blades and foils.
