They are actually pretty loose like regular T-Shirts.

I read a review on Amazon that they run pretty big. If I normally wear an XL t-shirt, should I get an XL in this or a L?

My favorite workout shirt...it does run on the big side, which provides comfort. Little longer in the arms/torso.
