Caveat emptor - just scanned the reviews, apparently this MP3 download is a bootleg, not the original 1961 classical recording. You're apparently not getting the original Atlantic recording with your MP3 download but instead a knock-off. Fare thee well if you dare!

UPDATE - please disregard. At first I was wary due to the Amazon reviews, but you folks helped me with my due diligence, this is a good quality download. Sorry if I bummed out anyone....

Dammit, I just saw this in the reviews and did a little research. I guess it's right. Although, 99 cents for these recordings is worth the "risk"

True, 99 cents is virtually free...just wanted folks to be aware that they might not be getting the recording they thought they were getting. It is still worthwhile as long as the quality of the recording is respectable . . . perhaps those who have already downloaded can attest to that.

I SERIOUSLY doubt Amazon is selling a bootleg. Seriously. Plus Amazon sells the physical version of this album. Where do you think they get their physical CDs and their MP3s? Out the back of a Van? I don't think so. They come from legitimate sources.

Looks like there is another Coltrane CD called My Favorite Things with six tracks on it, but this CD by the same name, with four tracks, is legit. Here more info:

This appears to be legit. I haven't downloaded the mp3s because I have the CD. I am a HUGE Coltrane fan and it really gets no better than this quartet. I listen to "Summertime" at least 8-10 times PER WEEK. It's that good...

Right -- notice that the reviews are the same for the two albums. I don't mean that they're reviewed similarly, I mean that the same reviews are listed for each. Amazon does that sometimes when there are multiple versions of something. (I've seen it before when looking at books -- it's annoying when there's a new revision/translation, and someone's trashing an old one in the comments.) Those people complaining about a bootleg were probably trying to review the other one, but their reviews were applied to both. The 4-song album linked is legit. Dunno what the other one is.
