I'm tempted, but that is a large (45 bucks) rebate. Aren't there often good 2GB RAM deals in the 10 dollar range without the hassle of large, slow to process rebates?

Edit: Bought it anyway, I've wanted new RAM for a week now and it's Newegg. If you need to check what type of RAM your motherboard supports, check out corsair.com

Mail in rebates are less and less reliable. Make it $20 rebate and I might jump. Unlike OCZ, Corsair rebates take forever to come.

BTW, for the first time I'm having big problems getting 3 rebates from Antec, which always used to come in about 3 months.

Will this work in a Dell Dimension C521? The desktop supports up to 4gb 4x1GB ddr 800, volt at 1.8v.

But this is a 2.1v i just want to confirm it will run.

Beware, rebate company that used to handle Antec rebates is now bankrupt. You need to go to Antec web stie, and submit the rebates directly to them by email, if you did not do already.

btw, these sticks are huge, compared to normal 1gb ones. Do not know why.

I just got back a $30 rebate from my last set of Corsair. Had online tracking and everything. Got it back in 6 weeks max.

Probably not, Dell motherboards are finicky about memory voltages.

It won't run at the full 4-4-4-12, but yea it should still run. Though since yours is a Dell, you can't adjust any RAM timing in the BIOS. I remember I bought gaming ram and paid extra on my old HP Pavilion. Used a program to check out the timings and it had them waaayyy higher than the recommended setting but I couldn't do anything. If there is cheaper RAM, go for that instead.

And as someone mentioned, the RAM is tall. If you have a slimline PC, I wouldn't recommend getting this as it'll probably be too tall to fit. I have a Thermaltake SopranoRS case and it fits in with plenty of clearance (just for reference).

Just to add from experience I've never had a problem with Corsair rebates. They take about as long as any rebates, and I've never had one rejected. But I do follow the instructions to a T and make a bunch of copies anyways.

I may jump on this, but I'm running low on $$$ and $50 is a lot to wait on, especially since I have piles of DDR2 ram ready to be used by 7 soon-to-be-built systems.

Its just the heatsink. If you take off the heatsink they will probably run fine and will be as small as all DDR2 dimms. For some reason companies like to put on crazy looking heatsinks (I think just for looks) that are basically useless unless you're planning to OC (and even then).

i have a dell dimension e521 and dropped in some crucial 2x1gb kits (ddr2-800) that were rated at 2.1v for best timings.. even though the board only supplies 1.8v, they work just fine, either by themselves or with the factory original 2x512mb ddr2-533. -- just not at the rated 'best' timings.

1.8v *is* the spec voltage for ddr2, any ddr2 module that meets specifications *should* run at 1.8v; just perhaps not at fastest speed and/or timings.

dunno if the corsair will work as well or not, my suggestion is to check the configurators at both corsair.com and at newegg. if i didn't already have a couple of those crucial 2x1gb kits, i'd probably be getting one of these regardless of whether they're listed in them (i have another system that would take them if the dell didn't).

LOL! Totally concur, my corsair rebates took forever, but I did received them. I am still waiting for my Antec rebate since I submitted it back in late September of 2008. With the rebate company shot to hell, I was able to resubmit mine rebate...actually forwarded the rebate # to Antec and have gotten confirmation that I should receive my rebate within a month...or 2.

OCZ is second in terms of getting the rebates the quickest; eVga is numbero uno.

Good Luck in getting your rebate!
