46" Samsung LCD $998 at Sears
There are a lot of Samsung threads bouncing around, but I couldn't find a price like this for the past month.
Sears [sears.com] has the Samsung LN46A500T for $998.

Great price. Sears is pissing me off. None in stock for pickup on this deal or the 32" they had yesterday. I'm in Florida, people are suppose to be doing stuff outside not watching their HDTV (buying them)!!

Different Model, same price. This link above is the A530. I forget the exact differences, but the 530 is a big better.

This model got difficult to find pretty much overnight it seems. I was watching it the last 2-3 weeks and decided to buy when BB had it for $1025 and only 2 of the closest 6 stores had it in stock. I used a 10% off coupon and got it for $970 OTD. Great TV...from what I've read it is closest to the LN46A530 with fewer inputs. Some people claim 2 HDMIs aren't enough but it depends on the owner. I have my cable box hooked up to one and a PS3 hooked up to the other...what else do you need? If you're in the market and can find it...get it!! Last place I saw that had them in stock was Circuit City (big surprise!). If you can't find it at Sears...you could try to PM at CC.

This model was a holiday specialty item. Sears has these every year, last year it was a 50" plasma. They are skimped down models (notice this set has a case similar to last years models of Samsungs, I wouldn't be surprised if it has the slower panel in it too) so they can advertise low prices for Black Friday through Christmas. Then after Christmas stock dries up.

Get the 530 over this one, especially if you can get the price close to this.

They have the A500 at Best Buy as well...are you saying its a holiday model for retail stores in general? all the reviews I've read state the only difference between this set and the 530/550 are less HDMI ports...

Yeah, sorry that I specified just Sears originally.

Don't quote me on the different panel, but most reviews don't specifiy panel speeds in them either. All I said is I wouldn't be surprised if they had the slower (cheaper) panels in them.

Oh and don't bring the 550 into this, the OP's set is going to be closest to the 530.

Keywords: "if you can get the price close to this."

Figure out how much a few extra inputs and different housing are worth to you and if the 530 is selling for that much more...buy the 530. The fact is...the 530 is selling for around $1250. IMO the extra inputs and different housing aren't worth even close to that.

If you can find the 500 model for around $950-$1000, it has good value.

this is a tacky question - but what determines whether people give you rep for a deal?
