Mine arrived yesterday. It was DOA. If you look at the reviews on newegg, there definitely are a lot of reviewers reporting DOA PSUs. PC Power and Cooling believes that all DOA units were damaged during shipping, but I find that a little hard to believe. I ordered a replacement and hopefully this one will work.
If you bought one of these, I would definitely suggest testing it before you install it. I spent a few hours installing mine and hiding all the cables only to find that it didnt work. Very frustrating. Here's a link explaining how to test a PSU. http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com...hp?t=34941 |

The original fan used a two pin connector onto the PSU pcb. My new fan is powered by a knobbed fan controller. I just extended the fan power wiring outside the PSU. |

post up here if yours is DOA. I'm curious how prevalent this problem is.

Just tested it out after fear of hearing about DOA. Works fine! I have to say it is fairly quiet based on this quick try. I will post more results as soon as start building the new rig.

Thanks OP... Awesome deal...
Had been eyeing this PSU in newegg for quite sometime but could not get myself to spend more than $70 for it! Good thing I waited Anyway, mine arrived yesterday (I have prime). Its not dead silent but I definitely cannot hear it over 4x120mm and 5x80mm fans I have in my Stacker case ![]() I replaced an Ultra 600w PSU which started making grunting noises with this one. Pleasantly surprised to find 4 SATA Power Outlets per cable. I have 8 HDDs running in my PC and its much tidier having only two cables powering all of them
