Again, you are bringing in the 750TX to compare. Why not compare with the 620HX model from Corsair?

Since you picked up this review site, lets take a look at the reviews on the Corsair 620HX and the PCP&C 750 Quad

    http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/art...VzaWFzdA==

They write about the 620HX as follows "During testing it was impossible to hear the HX620W, literally. I routinely checked during our load testing to make sure the units fan was still working because I could not hear it even at full load. "

They write about the PCP&C 750 Quad PS as follows - "To be blunt it isn't silent or even very quiet. ....where noise is going to be readily apparent the name “Silencer” does not mean silent."

Corsair: so quiet you cant hear it even at full load
    PCP&C whines, loud

Some of us spend more time iwth the power supplies than with our spouses, it might make sense to pay a few dollars more and get something that does not whine
    Shut up.

Even though noise is subjective, this PSU was the loudest thing in my water cooling system. So I would have to agree with that review. However, a simple change in the PSU Fan was all it took to remedy that problem. This is a great PSU and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-high solution.

Can you share with us which fan you replaced it with? Is the connection modular?

Mine arrived yesterday. It was DOA. If you look at the reviews on newegg, there definitely are a lot of reviewers reporting DOA PSUs. PC Power and Cooling believes that all DOA units were damaged during shipping, but I find that a little hard to believe. I ordered a replacement and hopefully this one will work.
If you bought one of these, I would definitely suggest testing it before you install it. I spent a few hours installing mine and hiding all the cables only to find that it didnt work. Very frustrating. Here's a link explaining how to test a PSU.

I replaced it with a Scythe Kama 2500 RPM fan. It is a lot slower than the original fan and thus delivers much less CFM. I would only do such a thing if you are certain you will not tax your PSU. Pick something faster if you plan on SLI.

The original fan used a two pin connector onto the PSU pcb. My new fan is powered by a knobbed fan controller. I just extended the fan power wiring outside the PSU.

post up here if yours is DOA. I'm curious how prevalent this problem is.

Just tested it out after fear of hearing about DOA. Works fine! I have to say it is fairly quiet based on this quick try. I will post more results as soon as start building the new rig.

Dam i'm jealous! They are shipping my from Richmond, CA, which is like 20 miles from where I live!!! They shipped it out yesterday and it's still not here today - estimated arrial is January 23!!! Takes them 7 days to travel 20 miles? I can walk there and back with the PSU in less half that time at a leisurely stroll's pace... this, coupled with the fact that the BFG GTX280 from Buy.com deal last week arrived today = very sad

I have Prime so that might be the difference. But 7 days for 20 miles is pretty bad!

    Thanks OP... Awesome deal...
Had been eyeing this PSU in newegg for quite sometime but could not get myself to spend more than $70 for it! Good thing I waited

Anyway, mine arrived yesterday (I have prime).
Its not dead silent but I definitely cannot hear it over 4x120mm and 5x80mm fans I have in my Stacker case
I replaced an Ultra 600w PSU which started making grunting noises with this one.

Pleasantly surprised to find 4 SATA Power Outlets per cable.
I have 8 HDDs running in my PC and its much tidier having only two cables powering all of them
